FILIPPO GALLI has assured that the exit of Aldo Dolcetti does not change Milan’s youth project.

The head of the technical area of Milan’s youth sector and former Primavera, Aldo Dolcetti, rescinded his contract with Milan yesterday and it’s reported that Dolcetti could go to Juventus and work with their coach Massimiliano Allegri.

The Rossoneri initiated a ‘youth project’ which seems to actually be a lot more about the Youth Sector than about the first team and Milan’s Head of the Youth Sector and former defender Filippo Galli has said that the departure of Dolcetti doesn’t change the plans of the Diavolo.

“It’s been a month that there’s been a possibility that Dolcetti could leave the Rossoneri technical methodological area. He wants to go back to work on the pitch and by mutual agreement we agreed to set him free,” Galli told acmilan.com.

“The project goes ahead, CEO Adriano Galliani and Dr. Barbara Berlusconi want that. The Milan model continues. Working in a youth takes a continuous, well-defined concepts and teachings. Before starting this model, we evaluated various models and talked to the main players at Milan. We have drawn up a project that has been appreciated by all members of the club, and we then shared it with our coaches. This season we will continue to work on this project. We want to give identity and sense of belonging to the kids who are part of the youth sector.

“The new manager will be chosen from within the club. Maybe Dolcetti will enter a new position within the academy. He began as a technical coordinator, then became coach of the youth team. The Milan model will continue. Dolcetti has been a model professional, but we have the resources and ideas to move forward. We are number one in Italy in the youth sector.

“We thank the club for the resources that have been made available to carry out this work. We are pleased that the fruits of the work of recent years are maturing. Hachim Mastour is a developing player and is working with the first team and I hope he can become very important to the First Team. We have a young Primavera team this year with some players born in 1998 so I repeat the Milan project continues and moves on. Forza Milan and best wishes to Coach Pippo Inzaghi!”

Cristian Brocchi, who replaced Inzaghi as the Primavera coach, also spoke about Dolcetti: “I want to personally thank Aldo, he is a great man & great professional. I learnt a lot from him, he opened my mind and sent me on the path I’ve taken.”

dumb & dumber

What youth project bringing 32 year old Alex and 34 year old diego lopez and selling young players without giving them a chance !!!

MilanFan

Lopez is 32 and that’s a pretty good age for a goalkeeper (also miles better than Perin FWIW).

And obviously Galli is talking about the Youth Sector here. The first team doesn’t really have a ‘youth project’. Pretty clear by now. The club does.

Many players are now ready for the first team so they are not given a chance – Pacifico, Iotti these guys aren’t good enough to actually play first team football. Bryan Cristante, De Sciglio, Mastour, Albertazzi(?) are examples for this youth project, which still needs to do better.
