Milan: Meeting tonight to decide the coach case

75

SIVLIO BERLUSCONI and Adriano Galliani are expected to decide tonight who will be the coach next season.

Casa Milan opened to the public this morning but the fans have bigger things to worry about as they still don’t know who will be the coach next season and it appears that an answer for this very question could arrive this evening from Arcore.

Clarence Seedorf only joined in January, replacing Massimiliano Allegri who only managed 22 points from the first round of this Serie A season but the club is believed to be unhappy with the way the Dutchman has been running things.

Barbara: “Disappointing season for Milan, Atletico an example”

Seedorf is unlikely to continue as the coach, although it’s not 100% certain that he will go. Seedorf’s contract is due to expire in 2016 and it’s worth €2.5m net per season so Milan would owe him €10m if they decide to sack him. According to Sky Italia and a number of other sources like Gazzetta and Mediaset, a decision regarding Seedorf will be taken today.

Vice President Adriano Galliani, who has the responsibilities for the technical aspect at Milan, will travel to Berlusconi’s villa at Arcore to discuss the situation of the coach. Milan have a number of candidates lined up to replace Seedorf and the leading one appears to be Sevilla’s coach Unai Emery. The Spaniard, who’s won the Europa League, has been offered a contract renewal by Sevilla but Milan are hoping to convince him to reject their proposal. They seem to have until Tuesday.

Emery is reportedly the choice of Galliani, who also met Berlusconi’s yesterday along with the Political adviser of the party ‘Forza Italia’, Giovanni Toti. Sevilla are confident that Emery will sign a new deal and have offered him a pay-rise, offering him €1.5 million per year. Of course Filippo Inzaghi and Roberto Donadoni are always there as possible replacements.

Former Milan player Gianluca Zambrotta doesn’t believe that Emery is the right man for Milan and thinks that “they should either continue with Seedorf or rely on a coach that already knows the Italian language and the Italian league.”

Is it the champion’s league milan want to return to or europa league?bcos if its champion’s league then i think milan should look beyond emry or stick with seedorf or inzaghi.

sherbini

I don’t think this club will improve in the near future.
selling the club may be the only solution for quick improvement. Milan is a big name but is far from a big team.

Tippy

You are dead on, over the past 3 seasons, the only big name to come is Balotelli. Besides that, only mediocre players have been signed. Don’t get me wrong, Rami and Taarabt have been amazing this season and should definitely be kept. But, some nice young talent is what is needed. Gallani just doesn’t see it.

Vosic

Rami is top player imho but he hasnt come yet… we have still problems to give 8 milions for him. Wanna see them get better CB for lower price

Obinna Bobby

sell the club and buy better players…Froza Milan!

godmilano

Milan Shall rise again…..Forza Milan

redouan arafat

Come on seedorf the only guy that might be replaced you was Ancelotti but luckily enough he won the cl. Let seedorf stay for a full season with a team of his own and only then he be able to preform miracles. He has done well enough to deserve to stay FORZA Milan

Unamused Observer

Retain him….So that when things starts to go bad in the league we look around for another replacement? SMH

Milan fan

Seedorf is respected by no one in the dressing room,Montolivo,De Schilio,Abate,Poli hate him. Plus he doesn’t play Cristante or Mastour like Alegri did,he only plays average like muntari, constant, essien.

Suck him and bring ether Emeru or Jesus,Milan need a COACH not a practitioner.

Then bring some young quality players like:Santon,Savic,Doria,Lamela,Isco or even better Fabregas.

JaRossoneri

“doesn’t play Cristante or Mastour like Allegri did”…smh…do you even watch our matches?
Allegri never had Mastour, and Dorf only had him for one match. Cristante was injured for 75% of Seedorf’s tenure, plus Max didn’t play Cristante much anyway.
Either way, aren’t Mastour and Doria a bit too tan for your liking?

Unamused Observer

I still can’t seem to wrap my head on the outburst of fans wanting Milan to retain Seedorf as coach. Yes,its unfair to axe him just yet but then again, that is how life is. So far the potential names of coaches to replace Seedorf are far more capable than his fledgling coaching skills.I wouldn’t mind having Spalletti,Inzaghi or Donadoni as Milan coach. Its time people stop thinking with their heart and start thinking with the head because Milan needs a good coach with overwhelming experience to shape this Milan side. Ain’t you sick and tired of seeing Milan hire… Read more »

Allegri -> 19 Games: 22 Points
Seedorf -> 19 Games: 35 Points

Conclusion: Seedorf made a good job, considering our squad and our situation -> keep him and spend the 10m on players instead of wasting it

It´s also more likely that Doria comes when we keep Seedorf

NeoCortex

By the way i don´t understand why we pay a novice, a completely unexperienced coach, 2.5m per year. I mean, i am really delighted for Seedorf, but our management keep complaining that our wages are too high and then we do that…

Galliani “Seedorf decision after World Cup”

“Emery is reportedly the choice of Galliani…” Alarm bells are ringing in my ears with that sentence alone.

henry

I don’t understand G/B at all!!!imagine the kind of coaches a great club like MILAN are going after,,,Emery, donadoni, spalleti, can’t Milan go for a big coach???eg.pep gudiorla.henkyes.mourinho.pelegrini.van gaal.klopp.Rogers.etc

Alan

do you think they will come to milan?

indo milanista

Guys lets be abit practical….. Even i love Seedorf But yes the question here is can he match the quality of managers that others team have…… Yes he is better than emry, donadoni, spalleti, allegri, but surely not upto the quality of pep gudiorla, henkyes, mourinho, pelegrini, van gaal, klopp, Rogers and its difficult to get them at milan So the only managers that can be brought to milan should be milanistas at heart( true milan fans) let me give few suggetions though its worthless Inzaghi Seedorf(retain him) Frank Rijkaard( i dont know why didnt we ever tried for him)… Read more »

Can’t believe you’re putting Donadoni in same category as Allegri. Donadoni would never have decimated the team in the way Allegri did.

I-Milan

Sacchi was not a big coach when he came to Milan. Milan gave him the chance to coach Italy. Capello was not a big coach too. Even Ancelotti was such a ‘big’ coach.

Mos B

Seedorf did good job with milan and lets not forget this is his 1st experience in coaching… I want seedorf to stay….

indo milanista

yes but can we afford to experiment…..????
Thats the question
I am not against seedorf, i love him as a coach and as a player
He might be the Ferguson in future….
Lets see what happens i hope whatsover happens is the best….

According to Leggo, Milan and Real already agreed to Transfer DE Sciglio for the amount of 15 million euros in its place come Santon from Newcastle by 6 million.

Milanista121

Damn the management if this happens, Santon is nowhere near De Sci, there’s a reason Santon doesn’t get called up to the national side. Both our full backs are better.

Daniel

De Sciglio is definitely the better player and I wouldn’t like him to go anywhere, but make his career with Milan, which would be amazing. That said, 15 million euros is a good offer for a mostly unproved player. In addition, Santon is fine, and for 6 million, that’s a deal! Just hope the 9 million difference is used to improve the roster – there are plenty of really good young players out there that could be brought in by this amount of money.

Lumen.

People are still complaining about Seedorf for not playing Cristante and Mastour among other,Now if you are a worker in a company and theres an important contract to be executed(ELqualification) in that company and then you are the head of the department, would you like to work with experienced workers or inexperienced workers?. Someone complained about Mastour, had it not been for the 2 red cards given to 2 defender i’m sure Mastour would have make his debut, and Seedorf and Kaka said ”we don’t need to rush him so that he will gradually adapt to top level game physically”.On Cristante, when Seedorf arrived… Read more »

We should bring in Van Basten, he lets his team Heereveen play fantastic football, he knows how to get the best out of young players. Van Gaal is really overrated, i am from Holland and he is just a lunatic, all Dutch people know it.

Nas

Look what Simone did for Athletico Madrid or Brendan Rodgers for Liverpool? These two managers where relatively inexperienced but where allowed to mold there teams into what they wanted and got the best out of a lot of average players especily Athletico Madrid who only had costa as a world class player or Liverpool who only had swaraze and an ageing Gerard, are we so different than those two clubs in tearms of players? I think seedorf should be given a chance this coming season even though he prob won’t be allowed to buy the players he wants

Milanista121

I agree to a hundred percent with Zambro; “They should either continue with Seedorf or rely on a coach that already knows the Italian language and the Italian league.” So, I for one am against the appointment of Emery, how can people be excited of it? I’ve seen him for the past five years, and from what I’ve seen, he’s not a coach who will win you the league. Stay with Seedorf, it will only be a sign of extreme disrespect to him if he indeed is sacked, as Cafu said. I’ll only accept Pippo as his replacement. What’s this… Read more »

It makes no sense whatsoever to change coach especially with the results Seedorf got since January. What we need to focus on is changing all of our dead weight players.

Urby
Robinho
Mexes
Zaccardo
Amelia
Matri
Essien

I personally think that Montolivo should be sold to make way for Cristante or Mastour.

Balotelli should leave also despite his goal scoring tally. He has a very negative impact on the team and argues with everyone.

Replace Balotelli with Mandzukic,Dzeko or Demba Ba. A striker that works hard for the team.

we try for Cerci and Doria. Promote Pacifico!

dejan10

Dzeko yes, but Demba Ba???

I-Milan

Demba WTF?

Agwunachamba1 (King Shegs de 1st)

We don’t need to change coach, we need to change management structure. Send away aging players dat can’t perform and aging board members dat don’t know progress from stagnant. 1. Alegri galliani’s choice and he protected him from being axed by balu. Now seedorf balu’s choice can balu protect him from the claws of galliani his inferior or maybe superior.

redouan arafat

@nick Replace Balotelli with Mandzukic,Dzeko or Demba Ba all these strikers will be a downgrade to balotelli. Strikers like Diego Costa, cavani, immobile, remy even paloschi will be better than the ones you mentioned. Mandzukic just looks good cause of the team around him that’s why they brought in lewy, dzeko is crap even man city fans tell me that they would rather have ballo, and ba is the worst recommended player I have seen on this blog for a long time lol. All the strikers that you have mentioned are downgrades they are also in their late twenties meanwhile… Read more »

Whats new with Rami guys?

Goal.com reports Inzhagi will be new coach, I don’t see how he will do so much better in the beginning than seedorf but I guess Seedorf must have insulted Galliani or something since he has to leave. Atleast Iam happy we have a Milan legend at the bench instead of Uni Emery. According to rumors Arsenal, Monaco and Liverpool are after Ballotelli. If we get a really good offer I would sell, I see more negative things than positive thing with ballo and I believe Milan need a more “I only do the talking on the pitch” attacker, also a… Read more »

These guys are extremely dumb and have no clue, look at diego simone and athletico madrid, look at jurgen klopp and borrusia dortmund from last year, both had amazing seasons with no real world class players, except for a few. Both teams had good coaches who had the passion to win and a clear vision of what they wanted with the team. Milan should follow dortmunds method of getting young promising players and bulding them up and then retaining them. Also retain seedorf or keep inzaghi, bascally someobody with a milanista mentality. Or in the alternative spend big and get… Read more »

it is clear that seedorf’s main problem is the dressing room and some important players in the team. Inzaghi is in pole position.

NeoCortex

As much as i love Inzaghi, the question whether Inzaghi or Seedorf should lead our team was already decided half a year ago in favor of Seedorf. It´s sheer lunacy and a waste of money to fire Seedorf after only 5 months. Taking over a team in the middle of the season is never easy, much less if you are a newbie and you get a team consisting of mostly limited players without any confidence. Considering that he did a great job, so just give that man some damn time.

in SEEDORF I believe

Goal.com,pipo to be the milan coach next season. for God sake this is not fair, this is total discrimination.is it because he is not italian? mr.galliani strongely defended allegri who accumulated 22 points out of 19 games with the players he worked with for more than a season.and there is nothing wrong with that. But a rookie coach who played the same number of league games and accumulated 35 points cannot be defended.please don’t discourage the young man, support him and stop that your discriminative lifestyle. This is what I think, B & G have to go. This is disrespectful. Unless there was a clause attached during his appointment.
I won’t expect kaka to stay behind if this happens to seedorf

Sherbini

I prefer Inzaghi. But seedorf deserves more respect. He is an icon of milan, he should be treated in a better way.

Sherbini

The decision was wrong from the begining. Tassotti should have been the one after allegri. Unprofessional management.

Jibola

DECISION MADE: Inzaghi is our new coach and only awaiting the official announcement after the official exemption of seedorf. Galliani got what he wanted in a very dirty, shameful, classless and disrespectful manner.

All the best Inzaghi, FORZA MILAN ALWAYS

Andrew

Seedorf’s average points per game would have left Milan in 4th place, ahead of fiorentina with 70points. Not ideal of course but a lot better that what happened and probably just about what the current squad is capable of….

I get so frustrated reading the comments here!!
Milan needs to get back to its roots – they need an Italian core – they need to bring in quality Italian players that can form the heart of the team – then they can add a few foreign superstars.

Players that they should add or keep in order to create a strong core:

Santon
DeSciglio
Perrin
DeJong
ElSharaawy
Montolivo
Mastour
Cristante
Rami
Astori

Superstars to keep or buy
Balotelli
Doria
Fabregas

Get rid of players like
Muntari
Bonera
Mexes
Nocerino
Niang
Birsa
Etc..

As a Milanisti, i think Seedorf deserve get respect from all of us. We are not in europe next season, but we can’t blame Seedorf, remember where our position in serie a when he come, we just a few points from red zone. He love AC MILAN like us, When AC MILAN need him, he don’t think twice for leaving his job in botafogo. as it stands, what experience does inzaghi have apart from the youth team which still isn’t what we need right now. Seedorf MUST have done something behind closed doors that has not been released to the public yet. There is no other reason for this. We needed a world class coach or stick with seedorf. Let me just say, if this is true I am not upset that inzaghi will be coach, I’m just disappointed how seedorf has been treated.

Yeahhhhh…congreatt..pippo..i hope u next season win scudeto

JaRossoneri

If Seedorf was going to be fired either way, then Inzaghi is the right choice. He wasn’t going to stay with the Primavera much longer. We might as well find out what he is capable of sooner rather than later. PIPPO vs DORF: I was a fan of both as players, and as men. In terms of overall football knowledge, and having important global football connections, the edge goes to Seedorf. As far as understanding the tactical movements of a forward, and how to put the ball in the back of the net, Pippo is second to none. Either way,… Read more »
