El Shaarawy rejected €7.5m per-year Anzhi offer?

ANZHI MAKHACHKALA were the only team to make a real El Shaarawy bid but it was rejected by both club and player.

They say money is the most important thing in football these days for players but there are still a few examples of players turning their back on the big money in favour of a stay at their own club and El Shaarawy appears to be one of them.

Milan confirmed yesterday that El Shaarawy will stay at Milan after a 90-minute meeting between Adriano Galliani, Stephan and Stephan’s father and put an end to the many rumours and speculations around the 20-year-old attacker.

Milan: “The Rossoneri and El Shaarawy will stick together”

El Shaarawy tweeted that he “never had any doubts” about his Milan stay and the Italian media suggests that El Shaarawy had refused to consider any solution for his future that was not the Rossoneri. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Anzhi Makhachkala made an offer for Stephan last week, offering him €7.5 million per season but the player rejected their bid.

It’s also said in other sources that the Russian Anzhi Makhachkala offered Milan €40 million for their Faraone; they also turned down the offer. “El Shaarawy has to stay calm. He’s a great player, a good guy and the future of Milan. He forms a great partnership with Balotelli,” Filippo Inzaghi, who will be coaching the Primavera squad next season, told the press yesterday. “El Shaarawy has to get used to being criticized. Italian strikes are always more in the spotlight than foreigners.”

Gazzetta reports that Milan expect El Shaarawy to grow in terms of character and personality and be one of the leaders at Milan. El Shaarawy scored 16 Serie A goals last season but hasn’t found the net in any competition since February.

I think that Balo arriving certainly took the sole focus off of SES. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing, but I think they adjusted on the fly. I think Balo actually can help SES. Balo is an incredibly strong attacker and the focus he draws can certainly open a lot of holes for SES. I think the question is whether Balo will look for SES regularly or will he always be looking to goal. It is hard to argue with his scoring record since he joined Milan, but I think the preseason and national team duty will be… Read more »

Even Inzaghi-Shevchenko partnership were judged as incompatible in their first season!! Balo-Elsharaawy can prove that the media is wrong!

I think giving them national team duty and a full preseason will work wonders for the 2. I think they are eager to learn how to play off of each other and I think they will figure it out.
