SIMONE FOLLETTI is the new athletic trainer manager as Tognaccini will now work at the MilanLab.
The 2011/2012 season was terrible for Milan with regards to injuries as they were, by a very long distance, the team that suffered the most from injuries in Serie A – a thing that hurt them a lot in the Scudetto race.
Many of the injuries occurred during training sessions so Milan decided something needs to change. They are not replacing Coach Massimiliano Allegri of course, but they’re replacing the head athletic trainer.

Flamini to reject Milan’s renewal offer
Daniele Tognaccini filled this role for a few years for Milan but he now leaves his post and he’ll become the manager of the MilanLab which has also been criticized badly by many for how they are dealing with injuries. Tognaccini will be replaced by Simone Folletti who has been working with Allegri for years now.
Folletti joined Milan’s fitness staff last summer; he previously worked with the 44-year-old Rossoneri boss SPAL 1907, U.S. Sassuolo Calcio and Cagliari Calcio. He’s now getting a very important role at AC Milan.
YES
@Lewangoalsk agreed lol…
if Tognaccini was in charge of so many injuries last year, why is he not being fired but being promoted
Let’s hope that with this, our number of injuries will decrease. Since we’re cutting the squad size, we simply can’t afford to have more than 2-3 players injured at a time.
MilanLAB is awful nawadays. their reputation is not as great as those in the past..
