Serginho: “No intention to sell Brazilian duo”

SERGINHO says Pato and Binho are part of Milan’s plans and claims Milan still follow Ganso.

Milan are believed to be short in funds and in order to finance a move for a big player, they might have sell some of their star players. However, Milan legend and consultant Serginho says no Brazilians will leave.

The Rossoneri have already confirmed Thiago Silva for next season, amid Barcelona interest, but following a very disappointing season, Alex Pato and Robinho have found themselves linked with an exit.

Milan confirm four more injuries

“Robinho is a part of the management’s plan, so it’s very difficult to see them starting negotiations with another club,” Serginho said. “I can say with absolute certainty that Milan have no intention of letting go of Alexandre Pato. Pato is very important to Milan, and it’s almost impossible to see him going back to Brazil.

“Pato is wanted by many European clubs, but Milan have no intention of letting him go. Milan have no intention of selling Pato and Robinho. The two players will only leave Milan if they ask for it themselves.”

Il Concorde, who retired from Milan (and football) in 2008, has been working as a consultant and scout for Milan in the Brazilian league. Serginho claims Milan are still interested in getting Santos’ star Paulo Henrique Ganso, although there is nothing concrete at the moment. “Milan are following Ganso. At the moment there is nothing concrete, but Milan are always monitoring him,” added the former left wingback.

“Ganso is a different kind of athlete in football today. The big clubs are always interested in players like him, including Milan. Ganso could become a possible objective for Milan this summer, because they are still monitoring him.” The price of Ganso however, would be very high and Santos don’t want to sell.

Serginho played for Milan from 1999 to 2008 – eight years in which he won the Serie A Scudetto (2004), the Coppa Italia (2003), the Champions League (2003, 2007) and the FIFA Club World Cup (2007).
