Kristoffer Ajer is a possible new signing to strengthen the defense of Milan, who are thinking about the formula.
Milan are looking for more quality and quantity in defense, and while the main target is believed to be Nikola Milenković of Fiorentina, the Rossoneri are apparently looking at alternatives.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, Milan have returned to being interested in Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer.
Ajer was linked with Milan also in the past but it appears now that Milan are evaluating the option of signing him again. Di Marzio expects a meeting to take place next week between the relevant parties. It is stated that the 22-year-old Norwegian would cost around €15 million.
The formula of the deal needs to be understood, a possible option – Di Marzio says – is a loan with option to buy which becomes mandatory upon reaching a certain number of appearances. The right-footed Ajer, who is 1.98 meter tall, has been representing his country since 2018, making 18 appearances for Norway. He is considered one of the best talents in Scotland.
Di Marzio also suggests a new name for the midfield of Milan: André-Frank Zambo Anguissa of Fulham, who spent the last season on loan Villarreal. The Diavolo had a meeting with his agent.

Hello Fabrizio. I am so happy that the rumours are credible now that our blog has reported it. In my opinion Ajer is potentially the best CB in the world. Most other CBs are more about publicity and not as complete as Ajer. The Dane has EVERYTHING that reminds of the great Milan defenders of the past. If you like he can be from the moon . Lol . I don’t care . What we need is a solid Centre back . I woke up to read the news about Ajer and I quickly went to YouTube and with what I saw , he looks ok. He is tall and good at tackling .can do counter attack. And to cap it all , for 15M , and at 22, then this is a good buy. Let Fiorentina be waiting for a Bill Gate owned club that will buy Milenkovic for 40M !!!
Well sure Gbenga but that neverthelless doesnt change the fact he isnt a dane whether you care about it or not. Im fine with us aquirring ajer though especially if we can get him fairly cheap but i think that is rather debateable if its gonna happen because there has also been interest from abroad so i doubt we will be able to buy him for 15-20 mil or for that matter loaning him with an obligation.
I was running to come and write all you dropped here about Ajer….aside being fast and aggressive his reading of the game is top notch and can play in the midfield as well.
And the good thing is that we may not need to buy another right back as he fits in well just like Millenkovic. The fact that Calabria has improved also makes the decision easy.

Milan are late to sign Joel Veltman from Ajax. he left Ajax for free an joining a small EPL team. he is about 28 y.o and could play very well as RB and CB.

He is very tall and strong in the air. But I’ve just watch Upamecano and Fofana on Youtube, Fofana is good but Upamecano is very good… he is very strong and a rock in the heart of the defense.
Upamecano is not gonna come as he renewed his contract this summer and had a release clause implemented at 50 mil that will first become redeemable from next summer so its safe to say he will stay for another season with leipzig unless they get a 60+mil offer this year.

I agree he would be a fine addition but its not much more than a month ago when a sale was deemed to cost minimum 25 mil and even then celtic seemed reluctant to let him go this year. Expecting we can get him for 15 mil or a loan with obligation seems a bit too optimistic to me but if they can bag a deal like that id say go for it.

Well we will see but i doubt it will happen as soon as that because if we qualify for cl next year elliot management should be able to build upon the clubs/squads value and thereby increase a potential sale in 2 years time or more. Yeah chiesa is a right wing and depay is a left winger or forward anyways i wouldnt mind either of them joining us but chiesa beats all the other options by lengths in my book.
Bernhard back then the 25-30 million asking prise and the reluctance were only a publicity stunt to up the price. If you say 25m you will end up selling for about 15-20. Also I think Celtic need the money probably because of Covid-19. And according to reports Ajer particularly favors Milan above the PL teams that can offer more. I see no reason why he shouldn’t chose us with best project in the world. Everyone knows it now.
Well im not saying you are completely wrong but thats just mere speculation to be honest as you have no basis to say that but im sure celtic has pretty sound economics as they win the league every year and has done so for the last decade, Anyways ill gladly welcome him but in the end as long as he has a contract with celtic its they who decide where he plays and what the buying club has to pay and not the player who has the final say.
Well I don’t know the economics of Celtic FC but in my opinion covid have done more harm then good to clubs across the globe with diminished returns….as far as Ajer is concerned he looks solid and Scottish league is more or less closer or looks similar to us….we need cb on urgent basis
I get that clubs are affected by covid19 but still i doubt celtic is in a hurry to let him go and as a constant top team that has won the league 9 times in a row i doubt they are in a particular cash need. Thanks for the encouragement coach. We need more women here. Milenkovic is either the number one choice or a decoy to remove attention from Ajer. Attention generates publicity and increases a player’s marketing value. I have noticed that Maldini and Massara are good at using this tactics. Observe it yourself and you will see. His market value is 4mil at the moment. Since he is young and in good form 15mil is a fair price for him. I would add a bit more if its needed to close the deal tho, i belive in this player potential.
4m you sure about that? Though I haven’t seen him play but his stats looks promising and age at his side. So there is ample room for improvement…but 4m will be unfair I suppose because he definitely looks far expensive than this
Yes thats his market value 4mil. You can check players value at transfer market. When a player is in good form the clubs ask more than this value. He playes in Scottish league so thats why his price is that low, hasnt been tested in the big leagues yet, i think he will do just fine in Italy once he settles.
Yeah Meer-1. If Ajer was in the Premiere League today, he would be worth 80m. This guy is insanely talented just like our homeboy Hernandez. So 15 million is an offer we can’t refuse. Plus you just can’t compare Ajer with Milenkovic. Seriously. The serbian won’t be as good as the Norwegian can be. I mean Ajers potential is on Van Dijks level if not more. Pronto!

I watched him again on Youtube. He has high technique and speed. He can control the ball well and is confident to dribble forward. So he has the technical requirement to play as a DMC ball winning. If he sign him, he can be a back up for Kessie. One signing for two solutions. Besides, he will not go to African Cup. Go for it !
I mention on some other previous posts that we should have a look at Ajer since he is within the parameters of what Eliot wants and he is financily afordable. I know some people said Upamecano back then who no doubt is better at the moment but we cant afford his cost lets be realistic. Same thing with Milenkovic and it seems they are asking unrealistic transfer sum for Fofana as well. So all in all this is the best solution for us if Maldini can pull it off. Very smart move.

Absolutely agree with you mate. Ajer shouldn’t be compared to Van Dijk. But he has potential and can become world class under Kjaer and Roma, not to mention Maldini is there to guide as well. All in all, at current situation, Fofana seems to be the best choice for a starter CB unless we can get Umtiti from Barca since they really need to sell.
