Rocco Commisso has spoken to La Gazzetta about the situations of Nikola Milenković and Federico Chiesa.

The names and Milan and Fiorentina are mentioned together very often in this transfer market, as the Rossoneri have reportedly set their sights on 22-year-old Nikola Milenković, while many insist that 22-year-old winger Federico Chiesa is also on the mind of Paolo Maldini.

The Diavolo are looking for opportunities in the mercato; some of these have been opened up in part ‘thanks’ to the Coronavirus which has changed the landscape of the world and of football in particular.

“The objective fact is that the pandemic has penalized the revenues of the clubs,” Viola President Rocco Commisso told La GdS. “Big and small. We must all put ourselves into question. We, the owners, the employers and also the players. Players must understand that they cannot continue to demand the same figures. The scripts have changed. In general, the valuations of players is lower.”

What can be done to get out of this situation?
“I read an interesting analysis on the revenues of the top leagues. Serie A in total on average comes after the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga. If we only take into account the commercial aspect and Matchday revenue then we slide back even further. On part with the French Ligue 1. It’s clear that we pay for the Italian language which is not widely spoken in the world. The Premier League with the English and La Liga with the Spanish have a great advantage. But how is it possible that we are behind the German language? In short, there is a lot to work on. Italian football has won so many World Cups, it is loved and respected in every corner of the global and it cannot be in this position. We have to start over by creating infrastructures. We cannot only live in the past with the monuments and the great history of our football, we must build a great future.”

What is up with Chiesa?
“I don’t know.”

What do you mean?
“In the next few days I will speak with the guy. At the time I promised the father of Chiesa that I would set him free in front of a just offer. Federico preferred not to take into consideration some requests that had arrived from abroad. I understand, this is the year of the EUROs. He wants to do well in Italy to convince the NT coach Mancini. But he must remember that Fiorentina has brought him where he is now. And that he has to do the right things. Those who want to buy reiterates that the valuation of the players has dropped. But I say that the valuation of the great players has not fallen. We will see…”

Milan want Milenković…
“I have never talked to Milenković about the possibility of him leaving Fiorentina. I want to keep him. Milenković is a good guy and an excellent defender.”

Is the Elliott group ready to bring Milan back to high levels?
“Milan have a different ownership but they are a strong ownership. They’ve made some major corporate changes. I think Milan want to get back to the top.”

This guy is now desperate to tell these two players. Expiring contracts, intention to leave, etc. And I think they’re both coming to Milan. And Maldini is playing hard and slow because he doesn’t want Commissio to do his stupid high price tactic here anymore. I trust Milan management to get these deals done soon. On the other hand, I also support Gazidis now after initially hating him so much. He really did see what was going on and offered support to Pioli for the stay and built a relationship with Maldini. *if boban had kept a little quiet and… Read more »

Gazidis is here for the commercial aspect and i believe that’s why Elliot fought to get him. But if Boban had kept quiet, maybe pioli and Maldini wouldn’t be here today.

MilanEstonia

Not true. If boban kept quiet he would still be here as well. In the end Pioli stayed because of how well the team played together under him and Gazidis opted for continuity. Hence Gazidis striked off rangnick plans and so Maldini also remained. Boban would have surely been here now if he didnt go on a rant – but i dont blame him either. Gazidis was F**king up the management for Rangnick but in the end realized what was good for team. Rangnick himself said that it wouldnt be good for him to take over a team thats doing… Read more »

Please if what I read in one of the articles is correct about Lyon exchanging depay for paqueta pls maldini and co should grab it with all muscle ,depay can play as a winger to rotate with rebic while Real Madrid dry loan player can act as a super sub

And bakayoko all of a sudden is heading to mardrid.

So I read. I doubt it anyway. But if it happens and Bakayoko furks up there then that’s the end of his career and Chelsea too will lose all .

Chiesa has a contract until 2022, if Commisso does not want to sell we cannot do anything about it, more than 50 millions is way too much. The player should also do more to push for an exit.

Juve and Inter fighting for 1st place.
Atalanta, Milan Lazio fighting for 2-5 place.
Roma and Napoli are still important team, way bigger than Fiorentina.

Where does that leaves Fiorentina? 8th place at best? Is Chiesa happy without CL football or barely the hope of playing EL?.
