The player was at training center Milanello this evening meeting Mirabelli and Fassone, and tomorrow he will undergo the medical check-ups.

Milan have been searching for a new striker and after making moves (and offers) for Alvaro Morata, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Andrea Belotti, it appears that they have decided to change their strategy and today (Sunday), they closed the deal to bring Porto’s 21-year-old striker André Silva to Milan.

According to Milannews.it, Gianluca Di Marzio, La Gazzetta dello Sport and others, today Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli had a secret meeting with Jorge Mendes and Silva himself, who already visited training center Milanello giving his definitive ‘yes’ for the move to red and black.

Milannews.it reports that the deal with Porto has been found on the basis of €36-40m, a number that is well below the €60m buy-out clause of the player, who netted 21 goals in 44 matches last season. It’s likely that Silva’s representative, the super-agent Mendes played a big part in the negotiation. The player will sign a five-year contract but his salary has not yet been leaked to the press.

Yesterday it was reported that Milan are considering signing both Silva and Nikola Kalinić instead of spending all their striker budget on a player like Belotti, and it really seems to be what Fassone and Mirabelli are thinking, and so the Portugal international may not be the last striker to arrive.

Andre Silva will be at La Madonnina clinic tomorrow at 07:30. He is Milan’s 4th purchase of the window after Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessié and Ricardo Rodriguez. And it’s not even mid-June.

This is another good buy,a striker that gives 21 goals out of 44 matches is in class of Mbappe also from Porto and young, let us forget about those high price tagged strikers they will probably play under pressure because of our expectation, they will be the target of our opponents and they might not perform like Pogba in Man united. Also Fassone and Mira cudos to you guys, get us one mid fielder, conti might not be necessary but it is a plus if you get him…Forza Milan

I have seen Mbappe play but not Silva, so might be wrong in saying this… but Mbappe a class of his own.
if you could get any one of them for 40m, I am sure you would pick Mbappe.

Anyways Mbappe will cost over 100m so no point saying ‘whats, ifs, buts’, after all I am glad with every player we have so far acquired

forza milan, forza lee

Andre Silva 36 million€
Rodriguez 15 million€
Mussachio 18 million€
Kessie 5 million€ loan
————————————–
74 million€ were spent till now (I am excluding bonuses and Kessie obligatory amount in 2 years) and we got quite a lot for that money. I do wonder what’s left of the budget and if we have enough to acquire a playmaker/winger, regista and rb (not really necessary). Of course we can still raise some money from deadwood we need to sell…

This still seems like a dream to me. As the report concludes its Milan’s fourth signing and its not yet mid June. We can compete for titles now. Quality players are coming in where they are highly required. EURO 74 million has been spent out of the EURO 100 million for the next 3 years stated as investment in players as part of the conditions for the takeover. The younger players can gain highly from the experienced ones – skill transfer and knowledge acquisition. I am highly optimistic about this Milan and i sincerely hope Donna sees the light and… Read more »
