Alessandro Del Piero would like to see Paolo Maldini back at Milan and says ‘I think he would do very well in football in general, not only at Milan.’

Maldini has been offered to return to the club but before deciding, Paolo would like to talk directly to the future owners to understand their project and what role exactly they want him to take.

Filippo Inzaghi has already said that he would like to see Maldini back and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero also thinks it would have positive effects.

“For me, Paolo has always been a Milan ‘bandiera’ (symbol, flag) so the fact that now or in the future he could be included in the technical level of the club can only be good for Milan and for Italian football,” Del Piero, 41-year-old said to Sky Italia on Wednesday. “He is a great guy, in all respects.

“He led us as [the Italian national team] as a captain in many adventures. For years he was the captain of Milan, winning over and over again and he’s always done everything in a very respectful and honest manner, devoting his body and soul to this sport and especially to Milan.

“I wish him good luck on what he wants to do, I think he would do very well in football in general, not only at Milan. I hope that he makes the right choice for himself.”

Maldini is so, for lack of better words, epic even legend of bitter rival hopes he comes back to milan. Del piero is so amicably sportsmanlike that he hopes his bitter rivals get better by taking their biggest legend back.

Absolutely. They are the kinds of guys football is lacking right now.

And then, some ‘fans’ are saying Maldini is making a fuss of the role and just do it without any question and answer to ex-inter people without even clearing up the idea about his role :’)

@Mojadanis, Honda didn’t mention anything about playing well and then getting booed. It is nothing about cheering an individual player who is playing good or bad. It is all about abandoning the team when they are playing on the pitch. You simply should not go silent when you are on the pitch and turn your back on the team. Its about the psychological impact it puts on the team. Of course Honda has not played full to his ability. Bash him and the team all you want off the field. But when they are playing, it is different. Like it… Read more »
