Jose Sosa is virtually a new Milan player as a deal with Besiktas has finally be agreed. The 31-year-old will have a medical and sign the contract soon.
Milan’s attempts to sign Rodrigo Bentancur from Boca Juniors have hit a wall as Juventus’ involvement (due to their clause) in the negotiations blocked the way of the Rossoneri for the 19-year-old.
And so the Diavolo decided to focus on a different target and in two days they managed to close a deal for Besiktas’ Jose Sosa, who was one of the early targets of the summer but was put on the back burner as Milan tried (and evidently completely failed) to sign other players.
As reported by Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal with the Turkish club has been found and Milan will pay €7.5m for the 2015/16 Süper Lig Player of the Season. Sosa, 31, will sign a two-year contract after taking the medical.
Sosa, primarily an attacking midfielder and formerly at Napoli, will arrive in Milano this evening. He’ll be the 4th summer signing after Leonel Vangioni, Gianluca Lapadula and Gustavo Gomez.

I think it’s better than spending 15 Million on Bentancur, we have young players and Bentancur is not another Kaka or someone to go crazy over him, unless Juventus would have already signed him, also i think Galliani is looking for players who are linked with Juventus, i don’t know why maybe he thinks that if someone is linked with a better team then he is something special, but in my opinion Bentancur isn’t something we ain’t got already, so i think we must stop chasing other young players, we got our own and we should be giving them a… Read more »

Sosa was the turkish league top assist and won the league with Besiktas which more than Montolivo, Poli have won in their entire career
It’s surprises me that all attention is on how good or bad Sosa is. Well I have some good news for y’all, we have bought one of the best promising defenders for years to come (Gustavo Gomez). Just mark my word.

We as ac Milan are signing all the wrong players, because Jose Sosa is too old and he will take one of our teams spot on the foreign players place on the field and we chould save thous foreign players spot”s to much better players, which we are in badly need! So this signing must not be a crusial for us, because we are in badly need to upgrade our team whit much younger and talented players then Jose Sosa! Why not bentacur? Bentacur not ready, why Sosa? Not because we need mentor, cmon guys Sosa doesn’t have winner mentality like maldini pirlo seedorlf ibraa he won’t have any influence to younger. Also he’s not better than bona. So, his arrival only for bona backup because we need someone who has experience.
Something that is funny is how fans all complained that we let Pirlo – a 32 year old – go to Juve, and he dominated there for four years, but now are complaining that we’re signing a 31 year old… If he is good enough or not is a different question, but dont bring up age, as age is just a number. Not to disagree with you on your point about Sosa but the Pirlo situation was different. The guy was our legend and one of the most unique midfielders ever. With all due respect to Sosa, Pirlo and Sosa are two names which shouldn’t be spoken in the same breath.
Anyway I don’t think age is the only problem here, as Milan fans would have accepted Valero and he’s old. The problem is he (Sosa) has failed in top teams more than once and that’s rightly a worrying sign.
I won’t judge the transfer of getting Jose Sosa, the reason is. Yeah, people are seeing his age as a “no no”, I haven’t seen him playing and one of the best players in Super Lig which have Sneijder, Nani and etc.. and Nani was good in the Euros. At the same time, non of us don’t know the intention of the new Milan hierarchy. These small small upgradings are the reason this club is not moving. If you cant afford top class oldies like Iniesta and the German guy at Man Utd cant quite spell his name then go for youth like Bentancur Kovacic where there will at least be hope for the future. Susa is nor youth neither top class. He would however add somethingpp but not quite the improvement worth of a 7.5m fee for a 30something year old.
Out of topic, as far as I can remember that years ago Santos offered us gabigol first refusal to get robinho from us (just like juve situation with tevez n bentacur) then we rather keep robinho for another year. In the end Santos got him for free, now gabigol price range has been increase to 30m!! Wtf!!

Remember when we wanted to sign pastore before he went to Palermo, when we wanted to sign Erick lamela? Can you say we didn’t need such young players? My advice is we go back next season and sign the player because even montela was rumored to have a good opinion of the guy. It will be a lot easier to sign him then as we would be less desperate and in a better financial position.
This signing means Galliani still has FULL CONTROL.
