Jeremy Menez will be on the bench. Bryan Cristante is meanwhile expected to return to the ‘director’ role in the middle of the pitch with Andrea Poli & Muntari on his sides.
From the info on the web, the probable formation against Chivas is Christian Abbiati; Ignazio Abate, Philippe Mexes, Alex, Michelangelo Albertazzi; Andrea Poli, Bryan Cristante, Sulley Muntari; Keisuke Honda, Mario Balotelli, M’Baye Niang.

Well, I think we’re getting rid of players first, or at least I hope thats the plan. But if you think about it, Perin, Cerci, a LB and a class CM, and our team without injuries really doesn’t look that bad, considering we get rid of the rest of the dead weight (Zaccardo, Bonera, Essien, Robinho, Constant etc.)

Play Honda in the middle, not on the right wing. He is not a winger.
I simply cannot believe that even now, in the absence of De jong and Montolivo, Honda hasn’t even been tried once as the trequartista. I mean they must’ve noticed by now that Honda as a winger does not work, so why keep trying…. :S

One of Honda’s most recognizing performances was from the World cup in 2010 and perhaps the most concrete one during the last Confederation’s Cup. He played as a central midfielder (sort of similar to the old Seedorf role during Carlo’s era) whereas Japan outplayed Italy and stood up against Brazil in inspiring fashion. Some good points, but I disagree with you on Emanuelson though. He can`t defend at all, and he never could. He is not a leftback. He does have the skills to play as a winger though imo, he is fast, he can dribble, and his crossing and passing are decent as well. So to me, it seems obvious he is much better suited playing at LW (LM maybe) instead of LB. Not so much as a trequartista though. Good to see pippo changing system. Used this at the end of the pool game, a 4-4-2 diamond with keisuke dropping in the hole behind mario and niang (4-3-3 defensively, in possession formation doesn’t matter as everyone should move freely). Our Mercato looks to heat up. Just sold constant with a World Cup in armero as his replacement for €0 and binho is gone saving a ton of money. Have faith guys, management won’t screw up as bad this year

Good line-up, but I think Lopez will arrive instead of Perin (which is fine imo, I think Lopez has 3-4 good years left in him.) Also I would play De Jong centrally in the midfield, dropping deep and breaking up the opposition play. Then two cm`s alongside him, playing more up front. —————-De Jong——————– —-New CM——————Sapo/Honda—– or play de Jong alongside a deeplying playmaker (Monto) with Honda/Sapo playing as a number 10 in front of them. well, inzaghi has gone ‘allegrito’: playing honda on the right. Even on fifa it’s no good, why the continuous experiment? Beats my imagination. Might ruin Honda’s self confidence. Play him to his strengths, not give the false impression that he is no good. The Armero i saw at the world cup was good, if the word ‘beast’ is a tad too realistic!
