Seedorf under fire despite good run

25

IN THE words of the President Berlusconi of Milan a few weeks ago, “This morning I met many people that could keep the Milan dressing room in hand very well,” he told Telelombardia.

Those were the allusive but sardonic remarks of Berlusconi to spite on Seedorf, the President who appointed the Milan coach, equivocally undermining the coach amid rumors evolving the potential departure of the Dutch who has served his side brilliantly, considering the former Rossoneri player lacked experience upon assignation, despite having led his team from bottom to higher up the Serie A table to secure a safer standing.

Amassing an impressive tally of 7 wins out of the last 9 appearances of the fruitless season, Seedorf men battled to qualify for the Europa League, almost qualifying but unfortunately they failed to achieve their goal by slight margin.

MLS sides interested in signing Robinho?
Poll: Who was Milan’s best player in 2013/2014?

Milan’s hope, and determination to qualify for the Europa League would have been deemed impossible if it had not been for the ingenuity of the novice coach whose clever managerial tactics ensued success and a certain style of play to keep the side’s hope alive, but Seedorf risks getting fired in spite of being proficient.

Seedorf seems to have fallen  from grace, and has become a pariah to his employer, who derides his coaching tactics, according to speculations.

Arrigo Sacchi concerning Seedorf, the former Rossoneri coach told Radio Two: “When one wants to set up a rock band, having only jazz musicians makes it difficult. He has got some good results, but his game is not always successful.” The opinion of the legendary former coach is shared by Berlusconi according to speculations.

Sacchi in his contradictory statement expresses doubts concerning Seedorfs style of play. But in football, the style of play does not matter if it produces wins. Mourinho, the famous coach has been heavily criticized for his tactical philosophy with no regards fot the esthetics, but he will go on to be successful having won great amounts of trophies.

Giving all the critics besetting Seedorf, there has been no clear reasons to justify such seeming dubious conduct. But the coach would go ahead and talk about the club’s  accomplishments of the season.

“Missing out on the Europa League? From the start that wasn’t the objective we had in mind. The lads did really well to emerge from a very difficult situation, as the number of points we earned in the second half of the season was dignified,” Seedorf told Sky Sport Italia

The future of the former Milan payer to become a pariah, is at risk in the hands of his employers, uncertain if the coming season shall see him remain in charge of office, or vacate, only time shall tell.

It is with utmost respect to Seedorf, I say this, but am I the only one a bit excited with the rumors about Unai Emery from Sevilla? I mean, I’m not saying Seedorf should be sacked but I think Unai Emery would quite an interesting fit that could very well pay off with good football and trophies, given certain circumstances which include at least some better players and a better working environment than has been the case lately.

Don’t expect Emery to join. This is just another trick of Berlusconi to play the fans. Unless he plans to invest at least 50m for transfers, no manager can get any trophies to Milan. Man U finished 7th and they have put a. 200m transfer budget but berlu, who is not even willing to spend 14 m to buy Taarabt and Rami, isn’t just blaming Seedorf for his own lack of investment.

What he really wants is for the fans to say give Seedorf another chance. Then, he will say fine but we will not buy any players.

I agree with you sir. There is no coach anywhere that can achieve anything big in milan at the moment. How much have we invested that we expect seedorf to do miracle. If milan like, let them invite the whole pastors from Nigeria to fast and pray for them, without reasonable investment in the team, there is nothing to expect. If they sack seedorf, that means,we are not ready for anything good for years to come. We should even hope not to relegate next season. With players like honda, essien, robinho, matri, montolivo milan should expect absolutely nothinh

If seedorf get sacked, i’ll stop being an AC Milan fan… Seedorf deserves another season with milan to prove his worth but we need to invest big for things to turn around

Indeed, although its kind of ironic to say “another season” when he hasn´t even had one season yet…

Nothing u can do to satisfy berlusconi and galliani. Seedorf had a good run and deserve a new contract for bringing Milan from bottom to the 1st 7 on the log. He was once a player of the team and he knows how to get the result despite the difficult task giving to him when he joined. Maybe saachi is interested so berlusconi and galliani should give him a year contract since they prefer aged players cos they are cheap.

I agree with the previous comments, but I’m a bit more optimistic. Many of our midfielders and attackers could play for other top european clubs. Monti, NDJ, Adel, SES, Mario. And many, with some slight improvement could in the future, like Poli, Cristante, Petagna. We also have some promising youth players in attack like Mastour, Kingsley Boateng, and a few lads from our primavera squad. Plus guys like Kaka, Pazzini, and Honda may still be able to recapture their form. Yes, our attack can always improve, but first and foremost we must fix our defence, and we must fix it… Read more »

this would be a fantastic transfer window if we were able to sign the players you mentioned but unfortunately ac milan doesn’t work that way no one will buy mexes or bonera of our hands, also coentrao will definitely not come to milan, and burlesconi for some reason wont even splash the cash to buy rami so there goes your plan

sorry about that

Your right. Coentrao is unlikely. Alex is 50/50. I still think Doria should be our #1 target, whatever it takes. Santon is possible at the right price(we’re offering cash plus Constant, another player, Noce, Niang, Mexes, could help the deal). I don’t mind Bonera. Mexes…someone will buy him, send him home, he could thrive in ligue 1. I could see him at Arsenal, W.Ham, Tottenham, etc. (offloading his salary should be a priority). Galliani may have disappointed us all, but we are all being facetious when we say its because of his old age, or for some other diabolical reason.… Read more »

@JaRossoneri … I actually agree fully, it needs to be a sensible strategy and one that allows us to groom those youth talents … but they must focus there … we can sell unlike some think … it would just be at a big discount and right now it’s more important to rebuild and get the right squad … missing Europe will allow for this strategy … we need a team as well, harmony … not whatever the heck Allegri was doing … and back Seedorf, he needs time and the right mentorship, which Milan has in spades!

Arrigo Sacchi himself can not do much with this current team,Milan didnt become great with such kind of players. In modern football if you dont invest there is a greater risk that you will fail

@Benjamin,Clearly you are a novice Milan Fan. Amelia and Urby are free agents,do you think we can really sign all those players you mentioned except Alex and probably Santon? Reports says Milan and Juventus has contacted PSG’s midfielder,Adrien Rabiot’s agent about a possible transfer. This Cissokoh the little i know him is that he doesn’t have pace, and so is MDS unlike Abate,so if we sign him,we will suffer when he meets the likes of Candreva,Cerci,Sterling,C.R,Bale,Di Maria who are just like Usain Bolt. I would have loved it if we signed Nigeria and Lille’s Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, the best Ligue 1 goalkeeper, who… Read more »

Instead of concentrating on signing players now so that the coach would have a good preseason, yhey would sit their old asses down and criticize a coach that came in and turned useless players to useful players.that was what they did to allegri waste all the transfer period on chasing wind and at the end they would bring garbages on the last transfer day then galliani idiot would say ” the transfer market is closed and we are happy with our signings and we can compete with any team in europe.” Am really tired!

If we will buy new players, then we should buy them before the WORLDCUP.
Because if they play a good WC, the prize will rise and bigger clubs would be interested in.

I forgot, one more thing about Nigeria’s Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama,he kept 21 clean sheets for Lille last season.
Brazil 2014-Nigeria,Iran,Bosnia&Herzagovonia,Argentina.
Watch out for Gkp Vincent Enyeam.
Alex could join Milan on a free transfer since David Luiz will join PSG.
Rami-Alex,would be solid, but we still need Doria and a LB.

In my opinion, we could definetly sell like 10 players (maybe little cheaper to surely get the money), and with that money we could buy 1 valuable player. With that we would get our quality on another level, and we would even our quantity too, bcz we dont actually need so much players to play Serie a only.

If you see that seedorf is sacked then he ask the management to buy better players that will compete, but if you see that he is kept,it means that he agree to play with free agents and not to choose who to buy. #WEAREWITHSEEDORF.

Milan should buy cheap but future superstars like maker, Oliver torres, Nicole murru, coric, scuffet, mitrovic, time werner etc…….youngsters with potential…but at a decent prize…….plus being young they won’t demand champions league football. ….plc Milan management show some passion and buy them

I knew Seedorf will be in trouble the moment he met the Curva Sud and told them that he didn’t like 70% of the current playing body, they are looking for a coach who will accept any garbage players they give him like Allegri who was their puppet

Guys.. stop talking abt new signings. milan will just be wearing new kits next year. Seedorf might stay coz b n g might find his severance settlement too costly. I am mentally prepared to see milan fight out another frustrating Year Zero season. Maybe we will make it to Europa League this time? I only hope to see our youngsters being given full opportunities to bloom.
Forza Milan. Forza Seedorf.
