Kaka: “Milan-Juventus a derby, Seedorf has his own style”

RICARDO KAKA believes Milan can fight for honours next season but first he wants to beat Juventus in two days.

Milan have done well recently and since Clarence Seedorf arrived they’ve collected 13 points (out of 18 possible) but on Sunday they face a big test when they host reigning champions Juventus, who are also top of the standings right now.

The Rossoneri are hosting the game and their despite their relatively good form, Juventus are considered hot favourites for this match. Ricky Kaka has said that a win against Juventus would be a major uplift in their fight for a European spot.

Balotelli in doubt for Juve, Poli to start over Honda?
Montolivo: “Juve a good test, Milan need a big match win”

“The game against Juventus is a derby of Italy, an international derby, games that are felt deeply by us as players, by you in the media and by the fans All week you live waiting for this derby,” the Milan forward told Sky Sport Italia this week. “We hope to be able to write another small page in the history of Milan, to say: ‘We played a great match against a great team’.

“For us, the three points are very important for the table but also on an emotional level and for our growth. Beating Juve would give us a great boost for the end of the season. This Juventus is very strong, they have great talent and are doing well. Antonio Conte? I do not know his way of working, but, he has something special, because to win the League three years in a row is not easy, you have to have something special (Juve won in 11/12 and 12/13 and are likely to win again). I’m curious to know his secrets, I like being on the outside, but to better judge him I would need to be with him every day.

“Clarence Seedorf? Now it is a good moment, we can see the light. We are on the right track. He has his own way and is very particular. He has taken a bit of everything and now has his own style, he is trying to get us to put into practice his own philosophy and his work. Mario Balotelli? I have a good relationship with Balotelli, and we joke a lot. I like him as a person.

“Balotelli is improving a lot. Balotelli can write history for Milan and Italy. He’s a phenomenon, even though he still has a lot to learn. If this team can win something next year? I think we can and we can be there close to the top and fight for a place in the Champions League. Personally, I can still grow a lot. We’re trying different ways of play and we’re still working on it and for me it’s nice because I grow tactically. I always try to help the team. The World Cup in Brazil? It’s a personal desire.

“This second chance at Milan has made me grow and improve a lot. I want to work and do well at Milan and then on May 5th we’ll see if my name is on the World Cup squad. My departure to Real Madrid? After what happened with Manchester City, I saw that the club had opened the door to the possibility of my sale, more or less I knew that I would probably be sold.

“These things happen, and from it came a beautiful time, I had in Madrid a very special experience, whilst it will remain in the history of Milan that I went away and returned four years later. It’s a beautiful thing. The chants of the fans? They’re very nice, it’s an emotion and it makes me remember all the good times I’ve experienced here. Atletico Madrid? Atletico? We played well in the match at San Siro. We were unlucky. Berlusconi? I spoke with him a few times even when I was in Madrid. We hugged each other at Milanello. He thanked me for coming back, and I thanked him for this second chance.

“I’m not thinking about my future – I still have 16 months left of my contract. After that, we’ll decide what’s best for Milan and me. Right now I want to live these emotions and write the history of this club,” added the 2007 Ballon d’Or winner.
