Balotelli in doubt for Juve, Poli to start over Honda?

MARIO BALOTELLI certainly won’t start but could be fit for the bench, where Keisuke Honda might be found on Sunday.

Milan play Juventus in two days and Clarence Seedorf is obviously already thinking about the eleven players that will play from the beginning and he will of course have to do without the likes of Bryan Cristante, Zapata and Stephan El Shaarawy.

Seedorf lost Mattia De Sciglio and Mario Balotelli to injuries last Wednesday against Atletico Madrid in the 1-0 defeat but while the defender is expected to be ready for the showdown, Mario is in a big doubt for the game and definitely won’t start.

According to Sky Italia, Mario is still feeling pain in his shoulder and in today’s training session he worked out in the gym with Zapata and Matias Silvestre. Sky states, however, that the medical staff is hopeful to have Balotelli fit enough to sit on the bench and come on if necessary against Juventus. Giampaolo Pazzini will play from the 1st minute as the lone striker.

Seedorf will use the 4-2-3-1 formation again with Adel Taarabt and Kaka the certain starters behind il Pazzo. The question is about the player that will play the role of the right attacking midfielder, with Keisuke Honda and Andrea Poli competing for a spot. Today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport had Poli in this role in their ‘Probable formations’ sector but Seedorf’s preference could change today and tomorrow. Many believe Honda hasn’t yet settled in and shown what he can really do on the pitch.

De Sciglio trained with the group today, as did Robinho, and will probably play the role of the right back with Urby on the left. Christian Abbiati is also expected to return to defend the goal, which was protected by Marco Amelia against Samp.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Poli over Honda, I said this before he started against Atleti that he would do great in one of the attacking roles or as a winger, and he’s proved me right, he’s done great and I bet he can do even beter. I’d still like Abate to start on the right and Mattia on the left though, great to have him back already. Pazzo will do a fine job! Anyhow, no matter who plays, we have to win, as Monto said, we need a win against a big team. It would mean so much to us… Read more »

So is Kaka to play against Juventus and Athletico? If this is the case I wonder if he will be fit enough to play on wednesday.

zibra

game is on march 11, so he should be good

I hope that Seedorf can see the best skills of Honda is as a central midfielder. Seedorf needs to think outside the box. He should try to play Honda side by side with De Jong or Montolivo. Hence, Seedorf should choose either De Jong or Montolivo as both players are too defensive.

Why not Honda instead of Kaka? I mean it’s not like Kaka played wonderfully well the last games, and Honda hasn’t even got a single chance at the CAM position.
