Cristante: “Happy with my debut,” Nocerino: “2014 started well”

BRYAN CRISTANTE feels he performed well on his San Siro debut, while Nocerino and Urby were also pleased.

Milan are aiming for a place in a European competition next season and after the 3-0 win over Atalanta in matchday 18 of the Italian Serie A, they are now sitting in 11th place with 22 points and are ten points off a Europa League spot.

The win over Atalanta was a good one for Milan as they got off the new year on the right foot. Kaka scored two goals and celebrated his 100th Milan goal but another player was very impressive and it was the 18-year-old Bryan Cristante.

Kaka: “Happy to be part of history, never thought I was finished”
A treble of thought from Milan 3-0 Atalanta

“I was available for selection for the derby but the coach made other choices,” Cristante told the media after the game. “I try to work as best I can and show what I can do. That’s what I have to do. At the start of the match, it was a very tight game, very closed but we did well once we started to make some space. I always train well and I hope I’ll have more chances to play.

“I’m happy playing wide in the middle and I’ll do whatever the coach asks me to do. It’s definitely pleasing that the club wants to keep me here. I just want to keep on pushing ahead and grow as best I can. Monday was emotional, my first match at the San Siro. I’m very happy with my debut and we’re a good group. Balotelli told me to stay calm ahead of the match.

“My name? My father worked in Canada and that’s where my name comes from. I joined Milan when I was 14 and I made my way through all the youth teams and now I’m in the First Team.” Adriano Galliani said that Cristante will not leave.

“It was important to start the year with a win as we’re in a league position that doesn’t reflect the club,” commented Antonio Nocerino, who played from the start on the left side of the 3-man midfield.“We have to get back to where we belong and I think that this year has started in the best possible way. We have to do better and give more to lift the club up the table.

“We’re very happy with the start but now we have four months to win as many games as possible. I think the difference can be seen in character. Having players on the pitch that give everything they have is very important. I’m happy now as Milan need to win. We’ll put 2013 behind us and do everything we can to get back up the league table. Cristante? He is a young player with real personality. Cristante is intelligent and he listens. He knows what it means to wear this jersey and he was also lucky enough to score on his debut. I’m very happy for him. Ricardo Kaka? 101 goals is the proof of what he’s done.

“Kaka is a man with real character and he has charisma as well. A look from him is all it takes to understand and he’s making history with the club. He can’t get too much praised for what he’s doing. He’s a great player,” added the midfielder.

“I’m happy with the win and the way I played. We needed these three points. We’re happy as we played a good game,” said Urby Emanuelson, who had a good game as well. “I saw Kaka was free for the first goal and I managed to get the ball to him. It was a good move. I’m very happy for his century of goals. My arm is a lot better. Now that I’m playing as a full back.

“I’m in good form but the important thing is to play, not where you play. After the Barcelona game, I’ve always been playing at full back and I’m improving but I still have a long way to go. We needed the win. 2014 has started well and now we have to think about the next match. We have Rami and Honda now and I think that’s very positive. I hope we’ll do even better in the next match. I saw Honda on Sunday and he’s very calm. It’s all new for him. Honda is a great player with real quality.

“I spoke with him a bit as I played against him years ago in Holland. I’m happy that he’s with us now.” Milan next games are against Sassuolo in the league, when Honda will debut, and then they take on Spezia Calcio in the Coppa Italia.

Nainngolan is a roma player, hope people won’t come and cry here once he shines in the roma shirt.

honestly from the beginning i didnt really like the idea of bringing Nainggolan here and cristante leaving. I saw nainggolan more as de jong – type player, so i prefer to give cristante some chances. Apparently Galliani stated that WE PULL BACK FROM NAINGGOLAN RACE, not because we didnt have money or else, but because THE BOARDROOM REJECTED it. So either Barbara or Silvio didnt give “YES” for this Transfers. I’m more excited for FERNANDO from PORTO idea, he is good and can add a lot to our midfield. However i am a bit worried about development of Andrea Poli… Read more »

Cristante is quality …he did in this match that many players of this squad wouldnt … like when he was keeping the ball infront of our goal and then croossed the ball away but with great accuracy to the front .

Forza Cristante u r the future !

Is Cristante really 18 or is it his football age? I’ll be 18 on June and I look no way near his old aged beard face no offense, he played well and congrats to KA22 for his 100th Milan goal, can’t wait to see Honda play

Milanisti since 1998

I think Christante should get rotation as a strating line up too. I mean he still gets time in the bench seat too (sometimes). I dont wanna him get so called ” early peak”, as being “exploit” too much after this match against atlanta.. He is still young, and the achievement he got from atlanta game was a process from the way the team treated him in the early season (as he spend almost no time as a strater).. Am i right?

I think it’s better for us to leave Cristante alone, don’t overhyped him, as it might become a huge burden for him, and it can affect his development. We saw too many cases like that.

I think better idea for Cristante is giving him playtime at least 30 min, and full time on coppa italia. Let him grows time by time.

FORZA MILAN!

At least TEN senior Manchester United players are on borrowed time this season. The Telegraph says United manager David Moyes’ frustration with recent results and performances boiled over, with the manager warning players that many of them were fighting for their future at the club following Sunday’s defeat against Swansea. At least 10 players are believed to face uncertainty beyond this summer, with Rio Ferdinand, Shinji Kagawa and Javier Hernández the most high-profile. Ryan Giggs, at 40, is also expected to depart the scene at the end of the season and become a full-time member of Moyes’s backroom team. The… Read more »

Yea, I’m against over-hyping christante also, we all remember how gabriel gave away a stupid penalty against roma, I think 2 players from the primavera every two years should be the best way to integrate them. Many people want christante to walk into the team just because he’s talented. I bet you, no coach dares drop major senior players like montolivo who is an italy international for someone like christante @least not when the world-cup is approaching.
