URBY EMANUELSON has claimed that Balotelli and El Shaarawy are very important and said LB is his favourite role.
Emanuelson has returned to Milan after a six-month loan spell at Fulham in the Premier League and in the last two games he played in a new-old position – the left back position – after previously playing as an AM, RW and LM for Milan.
Urby is capable of playing various roles and he’s not expected to be sold this summer (unless a big offer comes in) and the player, who is currently in Miami with the squad, has claimed that Milan want to fight for the Serie A title next year.

“We are working very well and I’m ready to fill of the roles in which I can be useful to the team and the coach. It’s true that I’m very versatile but my favourite position remains left-back,” Emanuelson told TMW. “El Shaarawy and Balotelli? They are very important to the team, both of them. So obvious to anyone bar Allegri, he’s a great left back but Allegri preferred Antonini, Constant and Mesbah!

He said before that he prefers the midfield position…and that he would play anywhere necessary for the national team – including left back. A great left back!? You call Emmanuelson “a great left back” even after watching his performance in the Chelsea game!? Do you know why Mourinho preferred Coentrao to Marcelo at Madrid!? If Urby had been allowed to play this role since he arrived, he would have developed more defensively and becomes one of the best full backs around combined with his technical abilities and speed. I blame Allegri for this but am still happy that he’s finally considered in his natural position because he’s still a young player and and would most definitely improve. IMO I would keep Urby and sell Antonini. He is younger quicker and although his defensive positioning needs improving (like Antonini’s) he can also cover various positions including LB, RB, RW, LW not trequartista though!!! He’s got ambition, he’s hungry and he can be a great squad player.

And btw I have to disagree with ur statement between marcelo and coentrao, as marcelo definitely has more playing time than coentrao.

@axelynx, Marcelo only worked on his game when Coentrao came in. Before then, he was notorious for always going missing in action when they needed him.
Gael Clichy is a complete left-back and has always been. He is strong, he tackles, he holds on the ball and makes interceptions.
Dani Alves isn’t great defensively and neither is any player in barcelona. I have never rated him highly as a left back anyway.
Urby is not a left back, not unless he shows improvement on the defensive side of his play.
Emmo didn’t even break a sweat playing in the position against chelsea, it seems natural to him,he’s very versatile, instigates counterattacking moves playin as trequertista…

Yes i know about Constant, and undoubtedly he has had his share of bad games, i mean games he cost us some goals, but after a time last season he startd improving. Very true, but then again, there are players who simply are not good enough. Traoré is very mediocre, and I doubt any other big team would snatch him up, I mean, can you imagine Madrid or United going after him, even as a back-up? I don’t trust Emmanuelson as LB. he is very weak. Milan often play counter attacking with defending. Therefore he’s not suited to our style. Dani alves n marcelo have extremely good attacking quality, better than many wingers out there. With possession play they don’t need to defend that much anyway. Have u noticed both barca and real concede a lot of goals even against small teams

Pls guys lets watch our mouths. We can disagree with players competence but lets say it nicely without damaging their carreers. Remember they are also reading what we say here and it can affect them positively or negatively. Urby may not be another Maldini but definately is a good LB and can also improve just like everyother player. He will be more useful than Antonini for the team.

De Sciglio is the next great Milan defender, along with hopefully Pacifico. Abate is a beast defensively and occasionally puts in a decent cross. They are, or should be anyway, Milan’s first choice full backs. Constant and Emanuelson are viable backups. Antonini can go. FORZA MILAN

We have turned into inter, emmanuelson, didac Vila, both these guys left their respective clubs as most promising youngsters, and when they got to Milan they found a negative environment in the form of allegri, and now their futures have been directed into the wrong path.
