MILAN are looking for a new defensive midfielder and the Italian media is already guessing who it’ll be.
Milan’s squad is almost complete according to Adriano Galliani and Coach Massimiliano Allegri as they are only missing another midfielder, one who can play in front of the defense, in order to be competitive.
It was believed that Riccardo Montolivo was signed to play the role of the regista and replace Mark Van Bommel but Milan are looking for a defensive midfielder now as Monty will be playing as a right-midfielder.

The Italian media is already full of names that meet Milan’s requirements. il Corriere dello Sport claims that Milan have set their sights on Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago (26). Gago spent the last season on loan at Roma but was not bought out. The newspaper also suggests the name of Napoli’s Luca Cigarini (26).
According to TMW, the respected journalist Gianluca Di Marzio and the newspaper Tuttosport , Milan are keen on Nuri Sahin (23) of Real Madrid who has found limited time under Jose Mourinho last season as he was injured and out of form. Sahin is tied to a contract with Los Blancos until 2017 but can leave. La Gazzetta dello Sportreports the name of another Real man, Lassana Diarra (27), who’ll surely leave them.
The newspapers also say the alternatives to these names are Sandro (23) of Tottenham and Nigel De Jong (27) of Man City but these players would be harder to get. It’s not clear what kind of a regista Milan are looking for, whether an Andrea Pirlo kind of midfielder or a Mark Van Bommel kind as they’re very different.
Meanwhile, La Gazzetta says that Mathieu Flamini has changed his mind and he wants to stay at Milan. Galliani said that Flamini’s time at Milan is over but he apparently called Milan and said he wants to stay.
We need sahin and cigarini,with them the squad is complete.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea either, but it creates the problem of replacing one of the top center backs in the world so he can make the move.
In my opinion, it’s easier to find a top notch regista then it is a top level central defender.
not with our current defence, it isn’t. acerbi-mexes just won’t cut it. it might’ve worked with acerbi/mexes-nesta, though.
For me, Sahin. Do everything possible to get him. If it fails, then get Strootman. If that fails, too, then go for Lass. Flamini can go look for a new club.
If we could get Sahin and Sandro or Strootman, then that would be great but those are players I find very difficult to get. I hope we don’t get just diarra or one of the others listed.
Milan should pursue Kyriakos Papadopoulos. He can play as a DM or CB and has had a phenomenal Euro Cup!
He’s strong at Shalke as well and only 20 years old!!

If we could get the 3 and another cb (maybe a lb too after we evaluate what we have) over the course of this season, I would be delighted.
I agree with what you are saying my fellow milanista. But I also thought of the lb position we have Urby And Didac both are good and maybe the are not the best lb in the world but at least the are “Cl” class then we have antonini which is one of those type of players who can sit on the becnh al the time and wait for injuries 2 come or his oppurinity same for bonera they are not the best but not the worst even. Our squad will be complete with sahin or strootman, that depends on how allegri want to use his regista, as mvb role, or as pirlo role. I don’t think we need and we’ll sign another cb, we have enough with acerbi. As for LB, I think didac has proven in la liga, so I support him and urby to fill LB, with antonini as backup, we xan sell taiwo and mesbah. Or maybe, just a dream, sell taiwo to benfica + some cash, if we could get witsel it would be awesome!
We could buy Gago on the cheap, Lassana diara is a beast in midfield and runs tirelessly. but neither have any offensive addition while Nuri Sahin is suspect defensively but could be our new Pirlo with his great passing skills.
going by our current financial situation ..i dont think we can get sahin/strootman (though i would love to see either of them in red & black)..i think possible options are
1.get sahin on loan(which seems to be perfect scenario)
2. get diarra but it will cost them atleast 15m.
3.keep flamini(knowing gillani u can say he will do anything to save some funds)
4.engineer a move for an less known &less costly player like kbp,noccerino,constant
