Milan duo up for Golden Foot Award

CLARENCE SEEDORF and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are amongst the candidates for the 2012 Golden Foot.

The Golden Foot award is an international career award only for at least 29-year-old football players, who stand out for their sport results, for their personality and for the esteem of the public and football experts.

In this year’s edition, 2012, there are two Milan players who can win the award: Seedorf and Ibrahimovic. There are 10 players fighting for the award and the winner is chosen by experts and the fans worldwide.

Allegri: “Milan will fight in 3 fronts”
Galliani: “No. 10 shirt promised to Ibra”

The award is given for a career – not the passing season – and Seedorf (36) surly has had a fantastic career as he became the first ever player to win the Champions League with three different teams. Seedorf’s Milan future remains perhaps uncertain but he’ll be remembered as a legend and a key figure.

Ibrahimovic (30) too has had a wonderful career; until the 2011/2012 season he won the domestic title wherever he played for 9 straight years. He had a terrific season with the Rossoneri and was Serie A’s Top Scorer. Ibra is in fact the only player to have won the capocannoniere with two different Serie A teams.

Seedorf and Ibra are only two of 10 candidates. The rest are: Gianluigi Buffon, Iker Casillas, Didier Drogba, former Milan men Kaka and Andrea Pirlo, Carles Puyol, Raúl Gonzáles Blanco and Xavi Hernandez.
