THE DAY of farewells turned out to be pretty good thanks to one special Pippo Inzaghi, as Milan hosted Novara Calcio at Stadio San Siro on Sunday afternoon for the final match of the 11/12 season. Santiago García scored after 20 minutes to give the visitors the lead. Milan looked very bad in the first half, turned off, but the second half was a lot different and better for them. Mathieu Flamini, who came off from the bench for Kevin-Prince Boateng who got injured early on, scored the equalizer for Milan in the 56′ minute following a clever pass from Antonio Cassano. Filippo Inzaghi entered the pitch in the place of Cassano and got the cheer of the crowd. Alessandro Nesta replaced Alberto Aquilani so all the veterans were on the pitch at the same time – Captain Gennaro Gattuso, Zambrotta, Nesta, Seedorf and Inzaghi. The last on that list stole the show with a great appearance. Seedorf delivered a smart ball to Inzaghi who scored a golazo to win Milan the game and make the day a lot sweeter (82′). Milan say goodbye to the legends of the past with tears as they finish this Serie A season in the second place.
Thank you Legends for all you’ve given to Milan! You’ll never be forgotten. Grazie!!!
I’ll never forget that Inzaghi’s celebration. I cried too.

What a sad day. My eyes was tears filled. Forza Legends.
Forza Milan.
same here.. i couldnt contain the sadness.. Can’t imagine the new Milan without them eventhough i know that they left for Milan goodness.. They dont want to become a burden, they realised that the time has come and their prime has passed. But heroes will always be heroes, when tehy’re around, we’ve won everything and when they’re leaving, they sacrifices themselves for Milan to give place for the younger players and a new winning cycle.. a great era has ended yesterday and now its only Ambrosini left at Milan to share his experience, and helping Allegri to take control of… Read more »

Forza legends, we will never 4get u.
today, i experienced one of my saddest days in football. now, the ac milen golden generation is completely gone. the generation which is the reason i love football, and ac milan. i still can’ digest the departure of maldini, sheva and kaka, i just don know how im gonna watch ac milan next season without nesta, pippo, sidorf and gatuzo. hope they all come back to milan again to lead the youth
Just watched the game and starting to wonder what would have been if we played inzaghi more, better finisher than robinho for sure. Would we still be in the champions league his defo class. There’s a lad at man utd,Chicorito he plays like Inzaghi he is not at his level, but is young and if he improves his positioning to not be offside so much, definate buy in my humble opinion.
The end of an era, a beautiful one with magnificent players. Now let’s see how Milan can rebuild. Interesting US Tour in the summer: http://www.footballcracy.com/news/serie-a/milan-for-tour-in-united-states/
It was amazing never seen a match so emotional. Hope we reinforce but no one will replace the ol boys.
SPEECHLESS!
