Milan to kick-off talks with Santos for Ganso next week

ARIEDO BRAIDA will be in Brazil next week to speak to Santos over Paulo Henrique Ganso.

il Corriere dello Sport reports that AC Milan are in pole position to sign Santos star Ganso this summer and they will meet with the club next week in order to start negotiations over the player.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder, who has an Italian passport, has publicly said, more than once, that he wants to play in Europe in the very near future and it seems that a move to Italy is very possible.

Galliani tells Genoa: ‘Beretta is yours for €10mil + the other half of Boateng’
Jankulovski out for 6 months with knee injury

AC Milan Sporting Director Braida will be present in Santos’ headquarters next week and will talk with the club as his primary objective is to lower the requested fee for the 21-year-old (€54 million).

Thiago Silva speaks to Ganso very day; Leonardo’s Inter future seems unclear now after two recent defeats to Milan (3-0) and Schalke (2-5) and if he gets fired, it’s unlikely that Ganso will join the Nerazzurri.

yeah
Ganso is close what a couple of bird-attack we’ll have
Pato-Ganso

is there a chicken over there?

ACORN

Neymar looks like a chicken

tbone

i think he could be a big star…for the price he better be a ballon de or nominee while at milan

ben

guys has anyone seen this guy play full games and not youtube highlights? if his only spot is behind the strikers then he’s competing with robinho, boateng, and cassano for it.. which is a complete waste having 4 players at that level fighting for one spot.. can ganso play midfield? can he be another pirlo where we convert him into deep playmaker? (which is what we really need!!!) i hear his passing game is amazing.. what do you guys think?

pj

@ben
yes i’ve been following him, well his team, Santos, at the Brasileirao and Libertadores. He is pretty good a natural tetraquartista, and remember the original positions of Cassano is secondsrtiker, Boateng midfielder and Robi winger or secondstriker.

In the Brasileirao of 2010 he played behind Robinho-Andre-Neymar and the team was awesome pure magic.

I dont think he is gonna be a deeplying he doesnt defend a lot, he is more like Kaka but not that fast, something, obviously keeping distances, similar tu RuiCosta

AP

A good point Ben, although i think we need an attacking midfielder in that position rather than another striker like Cassano and Robinio. This position may not have a defensivwe focus, but it does need to occassionally help out in midfield and neither of the above players ever do that.

Anil

Is he similar to Kaka or Pirlo ?

superhary

i think Ganso will be a great trequartista for Milan. my advice is get Ganso immediately!

SupaPippo

It would be better to put Boateng back to mid, play Ganso as AM and someone will departure this summer from first line, i’m guessing either Robinho or Cassano

maestro

I WANT LUCAS MARCELINHO IN MILAN TO PLAY ATTACKING MID

GANSO TO PLAY CENTER MID

NURI SAHIN TO BE THE PIRLO’S REPLACEMENT

FERNANDO IN MVB ROLE

URBY OR VILA IN ANTONNI’S PLACE

BOATENG MUST PLAY BUT IN MIDFIELD NOT ATTACKING MID

SupaPippo

And this guy has Italian passport????

AP

Good question.

zac

wow, the italian passport caught me by surprise. i would rather get rid of cassano than robinho, robinho runs all over the place and works hard while cassano is still out of shape and makes stupid decisions. and plus robinho will play wonderful football with the other brazilians, him and ganso are great friends

it would be great if ganso eventually took pirlo’s position or we move boateng back and have ganso, pato, ibra as front 3. great vision and passing, a little slow but he has some tricks up his sleeve. and he is NOT a late night partier

Unnis

He has an Italian that is good now we can get neymar or taio because I prefer neymar than ibrahimovic because next year he will be 30 years old

zac

Oh yeah, one more thing, in a couple years when Neymar wants to move to europe, you can bet that ganso will be there saying “join me at milan”

Shervin

Football have changed since the 90’s.

Today an attacking midfielder must have SPEED which ganso dont have. He isnt slow in anyway. But not anywhere near kakas speed. I still want kaka back, or lamela.

Thats why im against players like flamini. Today its 2011 its very differnt. even DEFENSIVE midfielders must have the ability to score goals even though their “defensive”.

Flamini cants score for shit, Ganso cant add thah speed we miss in Milan. Still Ganso is very good, but theres better option than him really.

redblack

@ Shervin: So you think Ozil, Iniesta, Xavi, Diego, Hamsik, Sneijder, VD Vaart… is FAST? Nope. They don’t have great Pace as Kaka or Robben, but they know to break the enemy defence with their PASS not with their SPEED. Seedorf slow as a tortoise, but destroyed Inter. Jurado also slow, but destroyed Inter too. Xavi can make different when he stand still. Milan don’t need more SPEED whilst we have Pa-Ro, we need CREATIVENESS and Ganso can distribute his good. And Flamini issue too. Mascherano can score goals? Obi Mikel, Lass Diarra, Marchisio, Gargano, Alex Song, Sandro or even… Read more »

Shervin

Ozil not fast? Hamsik??? Sneijder? Are you for real? They are all fast, and thats a major plus whetever you want to accept it or not.

Look up Mascheranos goal history, not only him. Look up diarras, songs, even gattusos.

I would recommend you youtube.

Then look up flamini, try to find his goal.

If you type “Flamini goal” at youtube, you will receive a error message. “Did you mean….? Who did you actually mean?”

Giancarlo

It’s not about speed, numb nuts. It’s about technique and skill. The Serie A isn’t the Premier League. I’ve seen players with tons of speed like Jeremy Menez and Hamsik run straight at defenders…

Mascherano doesn’t have a great goal history.

And by the way, Flamini had about a dozen goals for Arsenal… and several for us. Try again, mr failure.

AP

Yes, speed is important, but so is work-rate. Thats why our strikers sometimes annoy me. They are all a bit static and a bit lazy. playing one player like that in a team is ok, but three of them? Who is left to do all the hard work. If its just the ageing midfield, this is not enough.

kieltherossonerifan

i know this is a bit off topic but did anyone see kaka’s assist to ronaldos goal when madrid takes on spurs?? it was a great cross/lob by kaka.. i think he still got it.. still has that eye for a super assist… btw ganso cant be used as a deep lying midfielder.. almost none brazilian trequartista can be put as a deep lying midfielder.. and i dont think we should sell anyone if we get ganso.. but either robinho / cassano / boateng will have to accept less playing time..

Giancarlo

Shervin is wrong again! What a surprise. Ganso does have speed, but he’s more technique. And the guy wants Kaka back… let me laugh at that. Kaka has no speed at all anymore.

And he still speaks falsehoods about Flamini. Makes me laugh.

Ganso is a very fast, technical player. He’s more technical then Kaka… and Kaka is an injury prone mess…

Giancarlo

Im very happy to see this news, and glad to see the usual naysayers are around screaming and crying… Ganso is the real deal… he’s definite Milan quality. And he’s better than Kaka.

I can’t believe some still want Kaka back… Kaka is 29 years old, much slower, and has major knee problems.
