Mexes: “The squad is very united, we always give everything”

RICARDO KAKA is happy with how the team did on Sunday and Mexes has said he wants to win against Fiorentina.

Milan were far from impressive last night when they played Lazio at Stadio Olimpico but they at least didn’t leave the stadium beaten, ending a streak of four straight defeats in all competitions. The Rossoneri and the Biancocelesti drew 1-1.

il Diavolo scored first, with a Kaka cross hitting Konko, taking a deflection to beat Etrit Berisha just a minute before the half time whistle but Lazio equalized with a header from Álvaro González in the 61′ minute. Both sides didn’t do too well.

Game recap: Lazio 1-1 Milan
Highlights: Lazio 1-1 Milan

“The goal came and I don’t know if it’s mine or an own goal from Konko, but I’ll take it,” Kaka said. “I always give 100% and I think that’s what I did it on Sunday as well. I’m happy with my performance and also with how the team did even if the result wasn’t exactly what we’re looking for. The applause from the fans at the end of the match in Rome was a very positive signal.

“I have good memories of the stadium in Florence so I’m looking forward to that game.” The Italian daily sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport picked Kaka as the best player on the Milan side with a rating of 6.5 out of 10. Zvonimir Boban said that in his opinion it was the best game Kaka has had since returning from Real Madrid in September. Boban also said that “I didn’t see any improvements in Milan’s performance vs. Lazio, but Seedorf is trying to maintain a positive atmosphere.”

“It’s an important point. We showed that things that have been said about this team really make us laugh,” stated Philippe Mexes, who got the rating of 5.5 from today’s Gazzetta, to the Milan Channel after the match. “This is a group of players that wants to give everything it has and we’re right behind the coach. We’re very united and I’m mean that with all sincerity.

“We always give everything. Maybe we didn’t play that well on Sunday but we showed the character necessary to get out of this situation. It’s disappointing as we were in the lead and we conceded a goal but we did everything to win this game. I feel great with all the players on the team and there’s healthy competition in the squad. It doesn’t matter who plays the games.

“Adil Rami and I have known each other for a long time and maybe we know each other a bit better on the pitch because of that but I play well with the others too. It’s a particular moment that we’re going through and we won’t get out of it without the fans behind us. We know what this jersey means to them. We’ll do everything we can to get out of this situation and we’re ready for the match against Fiorentina. We want to bring home a positive result,” continued the former France international.

Milan’s next game is on Wednesday against Fiorentina in Firenze and for that reason Clarence Seedorf and the squad did not return to Milano but instead stayed in Rome, where they will train until the game with the Viola on the 26th of March.

Atleast we have kaka who continues to give something….. i some time get surprised seeing we take players like essien, taarabt….no offense to anyone but guys just think once agn…..essien was a great player…but now he dont even exist on chelsea champions league selection squad and he is a first team player at milan…..taarabt doing fine but he was another flop too at his prev club…we give them chances… nothing will change until 1> management changes, 2> (80%)squad rotation happens, 3> Quality medical staffs are being brought, 4> A project and a winning mentality raises, 5> Berlu takes a step forward… Read more »

Mexes really makes me laugh. If there is one voice I don’t want to hear right now it is the voice of the most unserious player in the team. Lool at who is saying he is giving is all

General Gattuso
