ADRIANO GALLIANI is pleased with Andrea Poli and Nigel De Jong and won’t tell much about the Ola John case.
The Keisuke Honda transfer seems stuck with both CSKA Moscow and Milan refusing to budge (€5m vs. €3m) and in the last days it seems that Milan are exploring other market possibilities with the name of Benfica’s Ola John in the headlines.
Milan’s Adriano Galliani had a few meetings with Doyen sports, who own 50% of John’s contract, and today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests Milan are thinking to loan the 21-year-old winger. Galliani, however, prefers to talk about other things.

“I’m waiting for news from the doctors (regarding Robinho’s injury), it a bruise, nothing serious but it’s an issue,” Galliani told Sky Sport 24. “I’m happy for the Valencia win, pleased with the performances by Poli and De Jong. We scored some nice goals and only struggled at the end of the match, but I’m concerned with Robinho so I’m waiting to hear from the doctors.
“Will we intensify our pursuit of Ola John? I’m worried about Robinho. Will there be more meetings? They are friends, we’ll see.” Galliani had lunch on Saturday with Doyen Sport’s President Nelio Lucas and the FIFA agent Vlado Lemic who represented Benfica. John doesn’t really make sense for Milan as he’s a left winger and Milan have Stephan El Shaarawy for that position and are in any case expected to play without wingers next season in a 4-3-1-2 with an attacking midfielder.
Meanwhile, Sky Italia reports that Milan want to buy the other 50% of Andrea Poli from Sampdoria and are reportedly willing to offer 50% of M’Baye Niang to the club from Genova. Poli played a great first half in the 1-2 win against Valencia yesterday.

i remember that i wanted eriksen or kondogbia but with honda i dont see where they fit, de jong is great monty is monty and honda is wonderfull.
but maybe we can get kondogbia who is young and replace others when their abilti will fall and the same thing about eriksen(honda is 28 so his birliant game wont last for ever- he is a am like kaka not cdm like pirlo).
Don’t worry. The 4-3-1-2 formation allows coaches to rotate their players a lot. Injuries, suspensions, current form, and to rest players are some of the factors for rotation. Not to mention Honda can play in several positions in the midfield, including the trequartisa role. Ola John is good, but no use to us currently in a 4-3-1-2. Hoping that as the FIFA Agent who was at the meeting represents Benfica he might represent other Portuguese sides like ‘Porto’. Maybe we r in talks for Mangala the CB and not John the LW. Well here’s hoping!!!

As a Milan it frustrates the hell out of me that a team like Tottenham can spend 50m so far this summer (they’ve agreed a fee for Soldado) and Milan won’t pay 5m for Honda or can’t sign Poli without letting a couple of players go. Milan earned EIGHTY million more than Tottenham last year and with the amount of costs they’ve cut I can’t imagine their wage bill is 130m higher than Tottenhams!

I remember last season, how everyone was thinking that Milan would never have a good midfield, some even thought it was a bigger problem than the defense. Well, look at it now. Montolivo is Montolivo, no need for an explanation on him. Boateng looks better by the game, his form might be coming back. Poli is also looking very good in these matches, while De Jong has been our star player in the pre-season. Honda is also on the possible list, and he is world-class. I think I can safely say that our midfield is very good now.
Logic says John Ola is just a smoke screen. If Milan really needed a winger, they woulda signed Alex Cerci already.

Too much talking on transfer. Milan’s central backs need reinforcement. Bonera and Mexes are not great defenders. Milan need to buy a CB like Franco Baresi if they want to win lots trophies.

similar to how there won’t be any other Maldini. But I do agree that we need a reinforcement in that area. Bonera is a liability at the back and if zapata or mexes sustain long injury our defence will be in shambles. Vergara is definitely a good player but he is still young and not very experienced (we will never know for sure as he could turn out to be another Acerbi-esque endevour for milan).

I think that so far, we’ve had a pretty good transfer campaign. But after reading that Bonera will be out for about 90 days from his knee injury last night and that we might be going after Silvestre as his replacement… A big no! Tricky market situation for Milan as Bonera is out, we don’t know the extent of Robinho’s injury until next week, and Zaccardo is seriously considering Sassuolo accourding to La Gazzetta dello Sport because he wants to play regularly. @fyah-mayne. Spot on, couldn’t agree less, and to add to the point about our offer for Honda. Spurs signed Holtby from Schalke for 1.5 million in January and he had 6 months left on his contract, just like Honda. Honda is a better player though so 3 million is fine, I would have said 2.5 is fine personally, but CSKA is just being stingy. Galliani is playing hardball, and as much as I think we need him now, I wouldn’t pay 5 million!!!
