SIVLIO BERLUSCONI reportedly wants to base the future coaching staff and board on former players.
Massimiliano Allegri is tied to a Milan contract until 2014 but there have been many reports of tension between coach Allegri and General Manager Adriano Galliani, despite constant denials from the CEO.
Galliani would bet on Milan fighting for the title after the summer signings but Allegri maintains his position that Milan will play for the top 3 spots, although in sport and particularly in football, ‘you never know’.
My Two Cents – Allegri Finally Coming Out Of His Comfort Zone?
De Sciglio: “Maldini comparisons are too early”
According to Sky Sport Italia , Milan and President Silvio Berlusconi are already thinking about life after Allegri and these days could arrive quickly as it’s suggested that Allegri has been issued an ultimatum that he has to win the next seven games (the 7th is the derby), or at least most of them, if he’s to keep his job.
Sky says that if Allegri get the sack, assistant coach Mauro Tassotti will take over until the end season. In fact, Berlusconi reportedly wants to have a Milanista as Milan’s next coach (or Pep Guardiola if the former Barcelona coach will be available and willing). Milan will apparently consider Carlo Ancelotti for the post-Allegri time if the 2003 and 2007 Champions League winner fails to do well at Paris Saint-Germain.
It also appears that Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini and Billy Costacurta will be offered jobs in the coaching staff or at the board as Berlusconi is keen to bring ‘the family back’. Silvio also would like Gennaro Gattuso to come coach the Primavera when his Sion deal ends with Pippo Inzaghi becoming a 1st team assistant.
Meanwhile according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan have spent more than €9 million on improving the youth staff in the past year. Milan are working on the future, and it looks like Max Allegri has no part in it.

good news i really want maldini, baresi, tassoti, costacurta, gattuso and inzaghi to be part of ac milan coaching staff because that way we will be unstopable and i think tassoti is now good enough to be the manager but i still want the others to be part of the team it would be so good and it could well happen and NEEDS TO!
Looks like interesting times are coming to Milan… I really look forward to seeing more Milan legends involved with the club.
now thats a good thing for the future.sorry allegri i’ve never liked you!
I certainly wont miss Allegri.
Still don’t forgive him for UCL subs at 86 minutes when we were needing the ball in play, we went out & to spurs!
The guy has has been a good stop gap but never a contender.
now this kind of news thrills me!!! However let Allegri have his chance.. He has a few more matches to do something and he doesnt deserve to be dumped unceremoniously out of the job.. I still want to see my legends involved though…forza milan!!
Not to praise or insult Allegri, but to start a youth movement with him at the helm and then sack him a season later is a pretty short-sighted decision. Just like we are investing in a youth project to let this new team grow together, we need to keep faith in our coaching staff and keep the staff changes to a minimum. That’s how the Ancelotti team was built. Ancelotti took over in 2001 and not till 03 did we win a CL and not till 04 did we win Serie A. If Berlusconi wants to build a “family”, changing… Read more »
The best news here is Gattuso coaching the primevera cuz Dolcetti aint doing nothing there! The youth team is suppost to play great not boring football
YEH!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY GOOD NEWS INDEED!!! But the first choice for the first team coach SHOULD be pep. Once agian thanx berlusconi for bringing the family back together, and investing in youth, now we are morden team. MAN!! Happy days are coming back!!
Do you really think berlusconi’s letting Zlatan and Silva go because of their high wages just to bring in Pep on an even higher wage? Really unrealistic!
Im very happy to hear it.paolo maldini is our symbol.milan should use baresi&costacurta&inzaghi or even nesta at their staff.i see great future…
We are coming…
I don’t have anything against Allegri, I would love for him to keep his job, but wow, this sounds so exciting, I hope this happens! I feel sorry for Allegri though and I hope he can at least finish his contract with dignity.
Forza Milan!
This thing about Galliani wants the number one spot and Allegri playing for at least a top three finish is just ridiculous. How can u finish number one without finishing at least in the top three? Remember the key words are “AT LEAST”.
I would like a former player to manage this club, the name that comes to mind is Rijkaard he is a former who has also had top flight experience and even won big with Barca. Maldini would be a great assistant as he has no experience.
“Maldini would be a great assistant as he has no experience.”
Okay…
Great news…
I wish this plan will take place soon..!!
Thats exactly what Milan needs… (first of all of course: SACK ALLEGRI!!!!)
i love the news that our former player will be place on coaching staff, board, etc but 7matches-left-to-win-before-get-sacked for Allegri doesn’t good for me, we all have to know that allegri made mistakes, and didn’t manage well with the senators, but i noticed the good point here, that he is good with youngsters, and thats what we need, for future, we need to construct youngster from mentality, then technically to play well on the pitch, its better to let allegri finish his job until the end of the season IMO
#ForzaMilan
@Ouch,bro,u’re damn right funny wt dat ur galliani-allegri play @ words.it really cracked me up a bit.
Dammit. I’m really happy reading this. I don’t care about the winter transfer and all. Well, not really. Oh and Tassotti over Allegri any day and any time.
Guardiola will be the Perfect and best option as a Manager. But Berlusconi should try to pull out some cash for Guardiola’s wages and first class players.
Let dem sack d goat quickly ‘ASAP’…he doesnt know hw 2 handle a big team lyk milan….Hw cn a so qualified coach only use one 4mation all d tym and i believe every1 knows Say it wit me ‘4-3-1-2’ d same 4mation every single match
Tassotti is the man for the job as hes been there as Assistant coach for a longtime! Its time to give the chance. Maldini and Inzaghi can be his assistants. Baresi is fit for a more administrative role, he got the charisma. Gattuso very good choice for the Primvera!
y should dey sack allegri.is not rite let him finish is contract first.people sayin dey should bring back our legend back like maldini baresi it might work and it might not work.look at d case of newcastle dey brought out they legend which is alan shearer to coach dem and help dem out of relegation but it didn’t work.so anytin can hapen dnt blame anybdy.
I will only believe this when it has come to pass, hope for it within the next weeks ahead.
My Choice has always been Ridkaard..immediately Anceloti left..but milan Board had their own plans..looks like they are finally coming back to their senses…cos serious..as a milan fan am so ashamed of d type of Boring football we play now..
Coaches that were former players typically tend to perform really well, and i think that Tassotti would do really well. On a side note its rumored that we are preparing a 13 mil bid for Strootman and are aiming to get him before during january transfer period
i think pep should be our first choice, i don’t see why he’ll be impossible to get; but if he does prove to be impossible get, then we should consider members of the grande milan squad, ie rijkaard, van basten, ancelotti, maldini, nesta etc. The bottom line is we need someone who will bring back our footballing philosophy, and make milan a happy place again. And other members of the staff should be former milan players. Poeple who know what milan is about. And again mr galliani and braida need help in the squating department, someone with a keen eye… Read more »
maldini, baresi, costacurta & inzaghi are excitng names. that seems great.
but i really prefer allegri over anceloti and pep.
it’s not fair at all to change generation with allegri then fire him!
Gullitt just said he would love to coach Milan!
No thanks to Guillit! He has not done well as a coach. His only success was with Chelsea in the late 90’s! He has been horrible since.
I am disappointed with all the nonesense from Galliani & Berlusconi about Allegri.
They want success but they dont want to invest in quality players;therefore blaming the coach.
Guardiola and Mourinho will not risk their careers and reputation tocome to a low budget team so we can forget about them!
We should let Allegri work in peace until the end of season before rushing to sack him!
Dose good Milan has to give our legends roles to play in our team especially Maldini and Costarcurta
Great news I ever heard in this site. But let Allegri finish his contract or atleast this season. I’m very happy 2 hear this and I hope it’s true not just to make the fans happy and 4get d crappy summer transfer. Lol just my opinion. 4rza Milan
Newcastle!!!….really…LMAo….milan r ahead of dem wit light years
ok…i get d point-bring d guy dat “lacks charm and charisma” to do d dirty work, i.e chase d senators who have overstayed their welcome, and develop youngstars like es99, de scilgo, in other words make allegri d scapegoat, then sack him. Very very cheap, even for galliani. And u idiots clamouring for pep, u have lost ur minds.
interesting i must admit it … i wish we do use more primavera players .. christante may be a regular in a year or two as he is physically big for his age and also knows what do with the ball and in a few years he could be our new diarra .. i wish we can use carmona more .. a very very intersting talent that reminds me of messi back when he began with barca .. and carmona came from barca’s youths .. niang should also be used more often and el sharraawy will be one of the… Read more »
sounds good to me. Is Rijkaard still looking for a job? Haha of course Gullit would coach Milan, the only problem is he keeps failing at much inferior clubs and has damaged his reputation as a manager.
Take a good look at ajax fc is filled with the host of ex-players such as overmass, beckamp and the coach him self etc.deffinatly we can do the same.
4zar milano
why mauro tassotti never get chance
I would prefer anyone but not gullit! He’s been a failure everywhere he’s been to. I laugh when people talk about experience en,how many of that did pep had when he turned Barcelona around despite sending away ronaldinho deco and eto(season after)? We took the risk sacchi and capello and he turned out good but allegri? No comment
come on, stop dreaming,
look at the squad we have now, we should be objectiv and let alegri doing his job quietly
Life is all about risk friends, and we must always take it…but this where I have a question, since johan cruyff revolution in. Barcelona in the late 80s he ensured that right form the youth teams to the top they all have thesame coaching philosophy and playing style. Is that not why their youth guys seemlessly fit in when called into the first team?
Is it like that too at Milan?I doubt
Even if God were to coach milan,u guyz would still complain!tsk tsk tsk tsk
@abayomi, nyc one. I’m for allegri all the way. If he gets sacked b4 d end of the season, i probably wnt watch any milan match for d rest of d season, cuz it wud b unfair. If he gets d sack after d season, then i wud support ancellotti, with tassoti as a distant 2nd choice. If pep comes i wnt watch any milan match, cuz it dosent make sense, pep’s style may b gud for a spanish side, but a rigid team like milan, dat has its own history of football playing style and its own tradition, twill… Read more »
Milan had their chance when Ancelotti left. Van Basten should have been the manager. He has performed well with le oranje and Ajax, but no Berlusconi and Galliani went for a dud in Leonardo.
an italian coach will do, would prefer tassoti or maldini, costacurta or bring back leonardo
Hahaha oh God I feel bad for allegri with all the senators coming back and in possibly higher positions than allegri, they’re going to make his life hell! Gattuso especially my God
I’m not sure getting old players back is the best idea as the club is in dire need of fresh ideas from other countries. On the other hand I’d take anything to get Allegri out, I certainly don’t want Ancellotti back though, anyone remember his last season?
Sacchi did play fine and attractive football during his term. What pep did in Barcelona is not new.
Allegri knows coaching a top club is pressure that’s why he’s been paid 3rd best in italy, and if he can’t stand the heat let him get the hell out of the kitchen.
Please bring back old boys into the coaching crew.
@abayomi nd Ifive am wit u guyz on dz one,I laff @ names being kald and all those blabbin about Max…Revolutions are never sweet or easy, this here is a revolution and Max has bn bold enuf to lead that revolution.wonder if Berlu can even think of peps salary(lol).did I here Carlo?yes he is gr8 coach bt didn’t win until after 2yrs of continued investment nd I rememba him lettin goucuorf go(sure he’l throw SES nd de sciglio out d window).my point is bring back d family bt respect Max if not years from nw d club wil regret d… Read more »
