MILAN are planning their moves for Monty and Ganso, it appears.
Milan have made four signings already but the big hit of the market has yet to arrive and is believed to come in late August. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that Mr. X could be Riccardo Montolivo.
The contract of the Italian is due to expire next summer and he has already informed his club that he won’t be signing a new contract, which makes him available, perhaps even on cheap.

Monty is a starter for the national team and he has a similar style of play to that of Andrea Pirlo. Milan have ruled him out before because he’s apparently not the type of player Massimiliano Allegri has asked for.
The Milan-based newspaper also suggests that Milan would make a move for Santos’ Paulo Henrique Ganso in January as it would be impossible to land him in the summer because of Santos.
Adriano Galliani and Massimiliano Allegri dropped clues, hinting that the 21-year-old could arrive in the winter transfer market. His price is also expected to go down until then. Milan remain in contact with his agent, Thiago Ferro and he even met with Galliani this week. Danilo meanwhile, seems close to Benfica.

first of all, montolivo is a great player who has both serie a and cl experience leading his team to beat liverpool and to the knockout stages, and to 4th place 2 years in a row in serie a, he is the creative player we need, plus he comes cheaper than pastore and bastian

Have you watched all the match when Bonera plays? if you have, then you must’ve already known the answer! Antonini not that bad IMO, but Bonera is the worst nightmare you ever dreamt in. That guy is a total jinx!!!
Montolivo is the 2nd best choice after Fabregas. So i’d sign it immediately, if it would be offered.
Ganso will be better form in january, and we would have a solid midfield until then with Gattuso/Van Bommel, Montolivo, Flamini/Emanuelson and Boateng, and maybe sometimes (if he is as good as it seems for many) El Shaaravy/Cassano as a trequarista.

you obviously have not watched monty. he is currently Italy’s best mid. He is certainly Milan class. You are probably one of those people that want Bale or Hamsik, both of whom are highly over rated while Montolivo is highly under rated.

I like him but…the team will not be balance if he and Ganso play at the same time. I prefer him, Ganso, Pastore or whoever he is alongside with someone who has great tenacity.

Monty totally makes sense. He’s italian who plays in the italian league, fairly young (26), excellent playmaker, and would come cheap as his contract expires next season which he is unwilling to renew, and you could possibly add if fiorentina were to ask for a huge sum of money then we have cassano an urby who both have been linked with them to play around with and lower the amount. Montolivo is great but the more I see of Ganso the more I do not like him. I think El Shaarawy will show in the preseason and in the Serie A that he is our Trequartista for the present and the future
Montolivo might not be world class but he has the potential of being one and espacially when playing for Milan beside he is for sure better as a starting player than any of our vertans(ambrosini,gattuso…) and before January the competition wont be that big so it would be the perfect timing for getting Ganso (exactly as cassano and Mvb)

Montolivo, yes, hes a great player. We wont get him b cause, y, allegri likes playing flamini, seedorf, gattuso, dats y, every1 is sayin seedorf n co wont get much playin time, yer right. Watch dis season, trust me. N wen dis season finishes, seedorf will get another contract extension. N we wont get n e 1 again. Watch closely.

Bale was a LB before playing as a winger so i believe that he could adopt the position of LCM easily he is fast he got good offensive and deffensive skills still young maybe a bit over rated but still can develop well into becoming one of the best midfielders in the world
Why would we sign Bale? He’s hugely overrated and overpriced. And Tottenham has said he won’t leave. And signing Schweinsteiger would be extremely difficult… why? Because Bayern won’t let him go.
Montolivo is an excellent option to sign but he shouldn’t be our big signing. He however could prove very worthy for Milan.

SEveral things… Montolivo is stronger defensively, faster, and younger. He’s 26, and Pirlo is 32. It’s not just because he is Italian. I like the player too… and I always say quality is more important than nationality. But in this case, his quality is more than enough for Milan.
