Musah was happy to finally play as a starter for Milan, as the Rossoneri picked up an important win.
After the 5-1 against Inter and the 0-0 with Newcastle, Milan found 71,000 fans at Stadio San Siro cheering for a win against Hellas Verona. And the Rossoneri, despite missing many starters and playing a not-so-brilliant match, managed to get the 3 points thanks to a Rafael Leão goal.
Milan played with an unusual 3-4-3, using Alessandro Florenzi and Yunus Musah as wing-backs.
It was the first time the American summer signing played from the start, and he gave good responses in a role he’s not accustomed to playing at.
“I’m happy to have played lots of minutes today and also to have won the game,” Musah told MilanTV after the match. “This is a good squad, which welcomed me with open arms right from day one. There are very good players here, and are also very grounded too, so they helped me adapt right from the start and this has helped me adapt better.”

The former Valencia player, who cost €20 million in the summer, also had an interview with DAZN:
A debut as a starter, what was your feeling at San Siro?
“For me it doesn’t change much, also from the bench I hear the fans a lot. So the help they give us here is invaluable, they are fantastic.”
Did you dream of playing at San Siro?
“I never thought about it. However, it is very nice.”
What did you think of your position today?
“I felt really good in this position, I do have the characteristics to play on the wing. I like to play more or less anywhere, as sometimes when I am a midfielder, I tend to drift wide anyway.”
A word on the character of Milan…
“It is important that a team knows how to suffer under pressure. It was a tough game for 90 minutes, so when the opponent has the ball, you must know how to hold on tight and defend as a unit. I like the way the team reacted today.”
