Junior Messias could very soon become a player of Genoa.
Milan signed this summer Luka Romero, Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze who have all been used in pre-season as right-wingers, and so it’s been made clear that Junior Messias is no longer part of the plans of the Diavolo for next season.
Messias was wanted by Torino and Beşiktaş, but as reported by Sky Italia today, and then echoed by other outlets, the Brazilian is actually going to Genoa.
The former Crotone man today had a meeting with his agent and with Genoa’s Chief Executive Officer, Flavio Ricciardella. He will tomorrow be in Genova for the medical check-ups and if everything goes well then the deal with Milan will be finalized.
Messias will leave Milan after two seasons on loan with obligation to buy, for a reported €2.5m. His contract expires in 2024 so before leaving he’d have to sign a one-year extension so that that the loan + obligation formula can take place.
Last season, the 32-year-old made 36 appearances, scoring 6 goals and making 2 assists.
