Milan agree deal with Atalanta over De Ketelaere: €3m loan with €23m option to buy and 10% of a future resale

Charles De Ketelaere on the way to the United States tour. (

Charles De Ketelaere is very close to leaving Milan, who will not retain a buy-back clause.

CDK was the biggest signing of the 2022 summer of Milan, coming from Club Brugge for €35 million.

However, his first season at Milan could not have gone worse, as he failed to score a single goal, lost his place in the starting XI after a few games, and lost the confidence of Stefano Pioli and seemingly the confidence in himself.

Charles is not part of the plans of Pioli and it was clear by little involvement the Belgian had in the friendlies in the United States tour, and Milan are all ready to let him leave. After returning from the US, and as reported by many outlets such as, Sky, Relevo, La Gazzetta dello Sport and more, Milan found an agreement with Atalanta over the 22-year-old Belgian forward.

Matteo Moretto reports that Milan agreed to send De Ketelaere on a €3m paid loan with an option to buy next season for €23m. Milan will not have a buy-back clause in the deal, but will be owed 10% of a future resale of the player. The salary of the player will also be covered by Atalanta. Everything is agreed, and the only thing that’s missing is the final OK of the player, who is open to accepting.

Milan, in fact, did not receive any better offers for De Ketelaere the summer. claims no one has come forward with an offer to take him permanently or on loan with obligation to buy.

After a year, CDK will soon be gone.

We will regret this move. Pioli is a terrible coach.

We might, we might not. Some deals work out fantastic, others don’t. It’s just how it is. Thiaw, Tomori, Kalulu, Theo etc worked.
It happens to every club. Best of luck to the kid, wish he had one more season with us.

I agree with 100 %. This coach is clueless. He can’t develop and young talentwd skillful player. He made paqueta left milan and later became a very instrumental player in their team and the Brazil national team.
Today, this same story is happening to cdk. Guys pls carefully study pioli well and you will believe that he is not anything to go home with

I love Maldini but we have to admit these sales skills were not there at all…

What sale skills? Cause they sold one of our key players? Big wow. They sold Rebic with a loss and are unable to offload deadweight. They are only loaning out the unwanted.

probably could and should of asked for more. it’s newcastle for god sake and saudi money
