Reijnders: “I think we can do more, the mezz’ala role? I discussed it with Pioli and this is my favorite position”

Tijjani Reijnders was pleased with his first start for the Rossoneri.

Milan drew Juventus 2-2 in a pre-season friendly in the United States and one of the stand-out performers was certainly Reijnders. The summer signing played 57 minutes and showed his abilities.

The Dutchman was used in the position of the left-midfielder, playing alongside Rade Krunić and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

“Playing from the start? Yes, very good, very nice, it’s always nice to wear this jersey, and I hope it will be more [smiles],” he told MilanTV.

On the game: “I think in the beginning it was a little bit too much rush and after a couple of minutes we controlled the ball more and had a good possession game. Then we scored two good goals. It’s too bad that you play a draw against Juventus, but I think we can do more.

On the mezz’ala position: “I discussed it with Mister Pioli and this is my favorite position, the number 8 who can do the build-up and also show the technical ability, so yes I’m very happy with this position.”
