Stefano Pioli has signed a new contract and is also getting a salary increase.

Last November, Pioli got a new deal until 2023, and today (Monday), five months after winning the 19th Scudetto in the history of Milan, the coach got a new deal with the Rossoneri.

The management have made it clear with their statements in recent weeks that they are very happy with the work of Pioli and they see a long-term future with the coach. As a result, they awarded him a new contract today.

“Milan is happy to announce Stefano Pioli has extended his contract until 30 June 2025,” a statement reads. “Having begun this virtuous path, which led to the 2021/22 Serie A title, Milan and Stefano shall continue to work on this ambitious project which reflects the Club’s history and values.”

As reported by Calcio e Finanza, Pioli’s new deal is worth €3.5 million per season, which is a €0.5m increase compared to his previous contract. According to Milannews.it, new owner Gerry Cardinale called Pioli to congratulate him on the new contract, with Paolo Maldini also present on the call.

The announcement comes at an interesting timing – one day after Milan’s bad 2-1 defeat to Torino away, and a few days before the crucial Champions League encounter against RB Salzburg.
