Sergiño Dest is a new player of Milan, he will wear #21.
After the injury of Alessandro Florenzi, Milan moved very quickly to close the deal for Dest, who arrives from La Liga on the last day of the summer transfer market.
The statement on the website of the Rossoneri reads: “Milan is pleased to announce that Sergiño Gianni Dest has joined the Club on loan from Barcelona FC, with an option to buy.
“Born in Almere in the Netherlands on 3 November 2002, Dest came through the youth ranks at Ajax and made his first-team debut in 2019. In total, he made 38 appearances for the Dutch side scoring two goals, and winning a Dutch Supercup. In 2020, he joined Barcelona FC notching up 72 appearances and scoring two goals; he also won a Spanish Cup. As per the national team, he has 17 appearances and 3 goals for the USA, winning the Concacaf Nations League 2019/20.”

The buy-out option on Dest is €20m, while Milan agreed to pay his entire salary – believed to be around €3.8m net; this makes the 21-year-old United States international one of the top earners in the squad, despite coming as a back-up for the right-back and left-back roles. In case he’s bought out, Dest, who has decided to wear the #21 jersey, will have a contract until 2027.
The player had his medical earlier today and from tomorrow he’ll start working with the squad ahead of Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina at San Siro.
