Aster Vranckx is the man Milan want to reinforce the midfield and they are trying to agree a deal with Wolfsburg.
After failing to get a defender and midfielder from Ligue 1 at the start of the window (Sven Botman and Renato Sanches), Milan turned to the Bundesliga in the last days of the mercato.
Malick Thiaw, 21, has signed his Milan contract earlier today (Monday) with the official announcement imminent, arriving from Schalke on a permanent deal.
Now the Rossoneri are trying to sign 19-year-old midfielder Aster Vranckx from Wolfsburg. As reported by Sky Italia, Milan are deep in talks to get the player on loan with option to buy. An agreement with the player is already in place and he wants the Rossoneri above all other options.
It is said that Milan made an official offer, valuing the player at €11m-€12m while Wolfsburg want €13m for the Belgian. Therefore, there is a small gap between the clubs and Milan are trying to close as soon as possible and have Vranckx signed to a five-year contract before the end of the transfer market. Bologna and Atalanta are also interested in him but the Diavolo are ahead of everyone.
Vranckx joined Wolfsburg from Mechelen in 2021, playing 28 games in all competitions last season, scoring 2 goals. Milan believe he is suitable to reinforce the midfield of Stefano Pioli.
