Brahim Díaz was happy after he scored and assisted in Milan’s first Serie A game of the season.
Milan brought in Charles De Ketelaere and Yacine Adli this summer but coach Stefano Pioli chose to give the keys to the trequartista role to Brahim Díaz on the opening Matchday of Serie A.
The decision of Pioli turned out to be excellent, as Brahim had one of his best performances in a Milan jersey, providing an assist and scoring a goal, as Milan beat Udinese 4-2 to claim the three points in front of 70,000 people at San Siro.
“I give everything for this team and these fans. I am calm, I’m aware of my qualities. It’s always nice to score at San Siro but it’s even better to win the game,” the Spaniard told DAZN.
On the objectives: “We are a strong team, we won the Scudetto. This year we want to win, let’s continue game by game. Let’s see what we can do together.”
On predictions and other teams fighting for the title: “We are interested in what we do, not what other teams do.”
On the new signings: “It’s always nice to have strong players. We are a team, we do everything as a team.”
Well played young man!
We will revisit this conversation after 10 games. 1 down, 9 to go. Then we can say for sure that Brahim Diaz is not just a momentary spark. The good thing is this time around, Pioli won’t be scratching his head thinking about playing Krunic (no disrespect) as #10.
