Charles De Ketelaere could be in Milano already tomorrow, after the breakthrough arrived this morning.
Only small details are now separating Milan and De Ketelaere. The Rossoneri have been following the player for a couple of years and this summer they decided to go and get him – a negotiation which took 3 weeks (but felt like 3 years) that seem to have a happy ending.
According to Milannews.it’s Pietro Mazzara, Milan and Brugge are now at the final stage of the talks with documents being exchanged between the two clubs.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Luca Bianchin, there are still some little bureaucratic details that are missing and are being discussed, details relating to small formalities with Milan and to economic agreements to be resolved between the Belgian club and the player’s agent.
Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia also suggests that an agreement is in place between Milan and Club Brugge. The player, who has given up his part of his salary to facilitate the transfer, did not train with his Club Brugge today and is ready to pack his bags and move to Milano. Di Marzio reports that CDK’s agent, Tom de Mul, who played with Zlatan Ibrahimović at Ajax, got in touch with the Swedish striker through mutual friends, to ask Ibra to take Charles under his wing and help him settle down.
De Ketelaere is expected to earn €2.2m or €2.5m (depending on the source) per season until 2027. Milan have agreed to pay Brugge €32m plus €3m bonuses and a percentage of future resale is guaranteed to the Belgian side, who had an offer of €37m from Leeds United for Charles.
Very little is missing and the player could already arrive in Milano tomorrow for his medical and the signing on the contract. Stefano Pioli is getting an important addition to his attack.
