Charles De Ketelaere seems to be doing everything in his power to move to Milan, but the OK is still missing.
Now things feel like only a matter of time. After weeks of grueling negotiations, it finally seems that we are at the final stage and very soon De Ketelaere will join.
According to this morning’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, the latest offer of Milan to Club Brugge is €32m + €3m bonuses + a percentage of a future resale.
Club Brugge are yet to accept the offer and are still thinking about it. However, some things happened that seem to indicate that the green light is close.
On Thursday, Charles did not train with the squad. In fact, he arrived at the training center but then went home.
There are conflicting reports on why: Belgian reporter Tomas Taecke, who is close to Brugge, suggests that the player does not want to train anymore with the club and he was the one who refused to train; Simone Cristao of RadioRossonera meanwhile claims that it was Brugge who asked the player to not train in order to not take unnecessary risks that could affect the negotiations with Milan.
Another thing that happened is that according to Sky Italia, CDK, who has been pushing hard to move to Milan, has agreed to give up on some bonuses that he is owed from Club Brugge. Gianluca Di Marzio claims Milan didn’t ask him to do it but it was his own decision to help facilitate the move.
The parties are very close and a definitive agreement, finally, should soon be found. There is little doubt now – barring surprises, De Ketelaere will be part of the squad of Stefano Pioli next season.
