Junior Messias spoke after Milan’s pre-season win over Wolfsberger saying his personal objective is to do better.

Milan took on Wolfsberger for a pre-season friendly today and they breezed past them with a 5-0 and a good game.

It took Junior Messias took 12 minutes after coming off the bench on half time to get the back of the net. Rafael Leão (39′), Ante Rebić, Yacine Adli (60′) and Gabbia (65′) scored the other goals.

“We are starting to take the right step,” Messias, who was bought out from Crotone this summer told Sky Italia after the game. “We are not at our best, which is normal in this period, but we try to improve every day. It’s important to get to the start of the campaign feeling good.”

On his summer: “I’m happy, I went to Brazil with my family. Winning the league has a different flavor. Now we have to keep winning and I want to do better than last year.”

On the Champions League: “Last season we did well in Europe, we had a great group and it was not easy. Now we need to do better.”

On Origi and Adli: “They integrated immediately. Adli is a great player, the things on the pitch must be seen by the Coach. As a group we are already united.”

On objectives: “As a team, continue to win. Personally, definitely do better than last year.”

Messias also spoke to MilanTV: “Today’s result and performance as important given the outcome of our last outing. It was crucial to win in a convincing manner today, which is what we did. Certainly, we still have a lot to improve on and given that we are still reaching peak fitness levels, we tend to make some small mistakes but we are on the right path.

On the Austria training camp: “We are united as a team and went for a nice bike ride [laughs]… it was really nice and we are continuing to work hard in order to be in the best shape come the start of the season.”

On getting bought out: “I’ve always felt the Club’s trust in me. I certainly have to do better and I always try to do my best. I believe I can improve on last season’s performance.”
