Milan are preparing one more try for Charles De Ketelaere and Maldini and Massara will handle it personally by flying to Bruges tomorrow.
Negotiations have been going on for quite some time but there is still no agreement between Milan and Club Brugge for 21-year-old forward De Ketelaere.
According to Sky Italia, on Wednesday Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will be in Bruges to directly negotiate with Club Brugge for CDK. Milan hope therefore that tomorrow will be the decisive day and that they’ll be able to get the ‘yes’ from the Belgian side.
The first offer of Milan was €20 million plus bonuses but it was rejected, as was the second bid of €28m plus bonuses (€3m bonuses according to La Gazzetta). The new offer of the club, that has CDK’s will on their side, will be slightly improved – around €32m including bonuses, as per Sky.
Club Brugge have a €37m offer from Leeds United in hand for a while but De Ketelaere has shown interest to only join Milan. The Rossoneri have no intention of matching the offer and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the new offer that will be made this week is likely to be the last one – a ‘take it or leave it’ offer for Club Brugge, who have CDK under contract until 2024.
Maldini and Massara want to give De Ketelaere to coach Pioli but as they’ve shown in recent years, they will not go above their valuation of a player and are willing to change mercato targets.

It’s quite frustrating seeing Milan still can’t conclude the deal. Milan play in CL next season and still have minor improvement up till now. No proper playmaker, RW,and proper back up for Theo, or even replacement of Romagnoli. How do you explain all our rivals doing so much more signings than us? They don’t play fifa either. Maldini and co are doing their best, I guess fans are frustrated about the perceived penny pinching from higher ups. Cdk is indeed a great talent, if so why do we haggle an extra 1M?

Whether we like it or not, out rivals have been weakened. Inter lost Perisic and Skriniar may have left already without replacement. That directly affects their attack and defence. They hoped to get Bremer but failed. Perisic was massive for their attack last season and Skriniar is their best defender. Of all the top teams in Italy,Milan is the most stable and financially sustenable. We only truly lost Kessie. In truth, despite the purchases of others, we are ahead of them. Inter are competitive with Lukaku back but Perisic and Skriniar have not been replaced. Juve has Bremer, Pogba and Di Maria. Bremer can’t replace Chiellini and De Ligt at thesame time. Juve will still feel their absence, especially Chiellini’s leadership. A good season awaits us. We will win the scudetto again this time but with a clearer margin
Please don’t let us justify nonsense. How in the world we would chase two players since December last year and the two eventuallly ended at other clubs. Our right wing is the weakest area in our squad for a long time. I expected us to have fixed this immediately after we won the league.
