Milan continue to work for Charles De Ketelaere and Hakim Ziyech and some developments have taken place.
An important week of transfer market has come to an end but the Rossoneri still don’t have new players to show for it.
The top targets remain Club Brugge’s Charles De Ketelaere, Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech and Lille’s Renato Sanches.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky, Milan have got a boost in their attempts to sign CDK. In fact, Leeds United, who have made the best offer to Club Brugge (over €30m plus bonuses) are close to giving up on the player, due to his strong desire to play for the Rossoneri next year.
The Premier League outfit is pessimistic they can convince Charles to join them and are almost entirely out of the race. This is good news for Milan, who have yet to find an agreement with Club Brugge and are expected to make an improved offer in the next days after having their €20m plus bonuses bid rejected. Di Marzio claims that in the meantime, CDK’s people are asking for technical guarantees from Milan, such as consistent playing time with the Diavolo.
As for Ziyech, talks and contacts between the parties continue. Last night Hakim went to Instagram to announce he’s fired his agent: “I am no longer represented by Nakhli Mondial. Thank you for the last 12 years. I am wishing them nothing but the best.” The following statement was posted:
“I have reached a point in my life where I feel that the time is right for me to take full control of my professional future. I want negotiations and decisions about my career to be made by me. So moving forward, my team and I, together with our legal representatives, will handle the business side of things. Professional interest should be directed to the contact info in my bio. I remain incredibly grateful for your continued support. Hakim Ziyech.”
Milan continue to work for the targets but the white smoke still has not arrived on any front.
