Zlatan Ibrahimović has undergone knee surgery and reports say that he’s planning to keep playing.
11 years after the last time, Zlatan won the Scudetto once again with Milan, leading the celebrations this week.
Today, the Swede went under the knife to fix a problem that has been bothering him for a while. In fact, in the last weeks, Ibra used to only train with the squad on the 2 days before the Matchday, and spent the rest of the week doing customized work in order to his physical condition ready.
“Milan announces that Zlatan Ibrahimović underwent an operation on his left knee carried out by Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, with the Club’s Medical Director Stefano Mazzoni in attendance, at the Hôpital Jean Mermoz in Lyon,” a statement on the Milan website reads.
“The arthroscopy had been planned for a while to definitively resolve the joint’s instability through the reconstruction of the ACL, with lateral reinforcement and meniscus reparation. The operation was a complete success and the prognosis is estimated between 7 and 8 months.”

According to Milannews.it, Ibra is still planning to return to the pitch and that’s why he wanted to undergo surgery immediately after the season ended. He has no intention of retiring and he wants to continue with Milan. From the part of the club, they are not closing the door on a Zlatan renewal. It’s expected that the two sides will be in constant contact to decide on the type of agreement.
Zlatan could carry out the rehabilitation phase at Milanello without losing direct contact with the team, the coach and the management. If all goes well, Ibra could be back in January 2023.
