Looking back with hindsight, Giroud should have started that match. If Pioli had let Giroud start, he would have had a fresh Rebic on the bench.

With the red card to Kessie, it would have been easier sacrifice Giroud for Tonali. Then in the second half Rebic could have replaced Leão instead.

Anyway, that is hindsight. Pioli needs to start Giroud when fit. It’s better to have a younger person with more energy for the second half.

I do not agree with you all.
The match might not have been same if Giroud played first. We need lots of creativity to break Madrid solid defence. GIROUD is not that creative. It is always easy to correct coaches after the fact.or after the match.. Our problem is we don’t have enough depth of attackers. The Brazilian guy we got o loan is still not match fit.
With the way we get injuries , an attacker should come in January if we are to dream of scudetto.

While I’m not advocating that Milan should change coach, because Pioli has done very well with limited budget. Many fans were impatient with him. Look at Barca presently. They have a good coach, but they have just started there own circle. You can’t be at the top forever, because big players get old and retire. You need to rebuild. Pioli has done well. He needs to be more daring and take risks. However, when they backfire, the fans will still complain. Now, as to Giroud starting, I pointed out that it’s in hindsight. Would it have worked? I think so.… Read more »

Both of you are right any one is ok for the start but the player to be blame is greedy kessie that made the team suffer and lose the match no one knew he was going to be red carded the coach as his formation on bringing in Giroud and Tonali to kill the game off but kessie single handedly won it for athletico

https://football-italia.net/former-italian-referee-expects-cakir-suspension/

The issue of Milan ..Atletico Madrid illegal award of penalty against Milan at the tail end of the .match is really generating dust.
So what do we call this act of this referre ?
Is is that the referees are afraid that Milan has come to collect their glory back in the first attempt ? Or fewe or Milan dominance again ?

Pioli took over a team in the middle of disastrous season. He gave the team stability and calm environment, guides this young team though their growth very well comparing last season with this, reached 2nd place, qualified for CL, lost 2 key players and still dominates Serie A from the start of the season with no loss yet. And you call for his head. What a bunch of schmucks.

Pioli is amazing coach for our team. I’m one of the few people who was a fan of him since start. But we should also accept he has his limitations. With Pioli we will always be the underdog who does well and amazes people. That’s good. Since we were absent on top level for a decade. But at the same time I don’t see lot’s of improvement in his tactical game. No versatility. Bad readings of the game and lackluster substitutes are still with him. Lot’s of famous tacticans questioned his decisions in the last game. Giroud sub was something… Read more »

I admit I was really doubtful of him when he was brought in but he did a miracle with this team. I completely agree he has his limitations but he suits this young team, they grow under him. I mean results speak for themselves and we haven’t seen this kind of football for years in Milan. As long as the team continues to improve under him he is the man.

All, see the latest development. This is how they always ruin Milan in favour of other team.. The Muntari goal against Juve years back that was disallowed hunted us for many years and changed our fortune.: https://sempremilan.com/gds-milan-prepare-formal-complaint-to-uefa-after-tuesdays-refereeing-debacle

Tomori performance as been very good that he has been called for the intl duties for England that’s impressive he should keep it up

Finally, Messias will be available for Atalanta! Then the break which should give him, Bakayoko, Krunic, and those not called for international duties a chance to get up to speed with Pioli’s idea.

After the international break, hopefully nobody will return with injury, Milan will be stronger to dominate Serie A.

Forza Milan!

I see a lot of complaints about our CF. Some say we need more of a target man and some say we need a more movable CF who is creative. Bellotti can kind of do both of this roles, he is free in the summer so i think it would be a good idea for Milan to contact him as soon as posiblle. Torino might even let him go for cheep in Januray to avoid the risk of loosing him for free. Until then we just have to work with what we got.

Both belloti & Azmoun are free and they will cost us 7 to 8M a year (combined). I hope we won’t be slow & sign both of them. Ibra is a legend and Giroud is amazing but we should accept that they are at the end of their respective careers.

I’ve been crying for Belotti whole summer. He would be perfect for this kind of football.

It’s funny how all the pundits and famous coaches, pointed out Pioli’s mistakes in the last game (while also admitting the great job he did in last two year. Something that I also believe in) yet 12 years old fanboys who started #PioliOut two years ago are trying to teach us about tactical analysis of the the game. You don’t need to be a cook to taste a bad food. You don’t need to be a coach to see a bad game.
