Brahim Díaz was happy with his goal against Spezia, which was the match winner in a very challenging afternoon.

Milan took on Spezia on Saturday away from home and coach Pioli chose to give rest to his usual starters Rafael Leão and Brahim Díaz, starting Ante Rebić on the wing with Daniel Maldini as a trequartista.

After a first half without any real scoring chances for the Diavolo, Pioli introduced Leão and Pietro Pellegri from the bench. In the 48′ minute, Leão played his part as he sent the ball to Pierre Kalulu who then found Daniel Maldini for a header that made it 1-0 Milan.

Spezia proved a worthy opponent and managed to fight back. Daniele Verde scored the equalizer in the 80′ minute, causing Pioli to bring Brahim on from the bench in the 82′ minute. 4 minutes later, the Spaniard found the back of the net, scoring from an Alexis Saelemaekers assist.

Díaz scored his 4th goal of the season and his second this week after scoring against Venezia.

“I’m happy for this victory because it’s always a complicated game here as Spezia play good football, especially in their stadium,” he told DAZN. “They played well, but we fought hard, stuck together, tried to score and I am very happy because this is a complicated situation that we managed to get out of.

On his form: “I feel good and I have faith in myself and in the whole team, this is important. The important thing is to do everything for the team. I can score even more goals.”

On his growth and that of Tonali: “We have talented players but the whole team has quality and talent. I’m not talking in specifics but we are strong.”

On if the #10 shirt is a burden and the Curva Sud chant dedicated to him: “I like to take responsibility. I’m learning the chant, it belongs to a legend like Kaká and it’s incredible to hear our fans dedicate that chant to me”

Diaz is potentially better than Calhanoglu. He is our number 10 resource now. Unfortunately, Maldini is not a number 10, not a winger too, and not a pure striker too. So what is he ? Hopefully, Messias can be the back up for Diaz

I thought you would have provided answers for the points you raised about Maldini or is that a polite way of saying that he shouldn’t have been a footballer?. If yes then I hope you are the only one who has that opinion,
