We don’t have the best quality of player in the squared compared to Liverpool and ATM but we certainly have a squad that is capable of beating any team… This Milan is defference and Pioli tactics is working.. He may be a small coach but he his fastly bringing Milan back.. His first season we qualify for Europa taking the job from 14th position and second season we qualify for CL and we are also second in the league above all we are now competitive and play good morden football

If Kessie has offers from outside with big salary, it’s still not a lost for him to sign the contract with Milan. Because if he keeps his performance, he will still attract big clubs in the future because his salary is still not too big. If he goes, he can get big salary and will give his clubs a big money. PSG, City or Chelsea will not hesitate to invest big money for quality players. This will give two advantages. One is better salary for Kessie and second is money for Milan. So everybody happy. Think smart please. Don’t think… Read more »

I get that wanting more money is justified in our mind. Players care about their families too. But I hate it when players lie. Donna did it & kessie is doing it. Do you remember his interview few weeks ago? Even if he signs, he Lost the fans trust & of courses I wouldn’t want him as our next captain for sure. I rather see Calabria or Kjaer wear the armband.

Don’t forget that because of pandemic, lots of players reduced they salaries to help their beloved teams (Pique for example). But our pretentious greedy players are rejecting 300% payrises.

Exactly, The feeling is that every time the Rossoneri meet the demands set, the agent ups the demand. For example, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were willing to pay the €3m initially requested but then the demand changed to €4.5m.The demand also changed when Milan offered €5m plus bonuses, forcing them to up their offer to €6m. Currently, the agent is asking for €7m plus €1.5m in bonuses and commission. In other words, the agent has adopted a questionable tactic.

We wait to much thats the problem. As their contracts run out players are approached by other teams who offer them big sallarys. Thats the tactic that the other clubs are using, offer big sallary to attract the player and get him for free, which kind of counters the big sallary. I said before the more Milan waits the worse it is for them. Afther January Kessie and Roma can even sign pre contracts with other teams. Milan chances to renew them then will be close to none. They should have resolved Roma/Kessie this summer period. For exmp if they… Read more »

It happens because the management kept waiting untill the end. Last season maldini were only focussing on Dona and Hakan. Milan lost both of them. The management should have offered Kessie new contract before end of last season. If kessie rejected, the milan could sell him in last summer window. Maldini probably thought that the players today are just like him or other legends, who prefer to stay at their beloved club than recieving a lot of payrises from other clubs.
I hope milan resolve the contract situation of Kessie and Roma before January.

That’s the problem mate, if they renew then that alters the deal of going to psg, City, clubs like this. It was simply trust. That men can keep their word. His agent asked for 3m, then he jacked it up to 4.5m when the management agreed. Now, he wants them to match PSG’s offer. What kind of nonsense is that? If the idiot had not made the statement he made at the Olympics, he would have been on the transfer list. But he gave an assurance and he’s now playing stupid games. An experienced management (Chelsea for example) would resolve any contracts within 18 to 12 month before it’s ending. It gives the time to sell the players for right price. Even in this transfer window we made the same mistakes. We didn’t renew or sell Kessie & Romagnoli. Now they have the power and we have nothing in our hands. The same mistakes they made last year. The best scenario we will renew with Kessie with a lucrative contract (I see it as a lose) or sell him for very small amount in January. Worst case scenario would be another free… Read more »

Their contracts were not signed by maldini, and its not entirely correct to say that there were no efforts to renew. Pundits post all sort of information, not all of them are accurate. For example, it was only recently revealed that Romagnoli is not on 3.5m a year, but on a figure close to 6m! If he renews he expects a higher salary, not matching his performance! It was reported that maldini stopped the scheduled renewal for kessie, from 2.2m to 2.7m when he just arrived. Maybe his agent is now going for his pound of flesh? But should maldini… Read more »

If Kessie fails to renew by October, put him on transfer list and on the bench. When the winter transfer opens, the club’s that want him will either pay up to get ahead of the others interested in him — even if the money is not exactly what he’s worth. For instance, PSG may offer 20m. Liverpool may decide to beat them by offering 25m, while Spurs may offer a swap deal with Ndombele. These are just possible scenarios and I think Milan should opt for the best. As for Kessie, if he does leave. He should know he never… Read more »

The blame for renewing solely falls on management. They exactly did same mistake which they did last year. They messed up number 10 with Diaz and messias, not filling hakan place. This is from Siempre Milan “This is due in large part to purely economic reasons as his current salary is too much for the policy pursued by CEO Ivan Gazidis in the last two seasons. Romagnoli actually receives a salary of around €6m net per season at the moment, not the €3.5m a lot of places are reporting. “This is because of the fact that in the agreement stipulated in June 2018 former sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli agreed with Romagnoli’s then-agent Sergio Berti a four-year contract starting with a base of €3.5m and rising up to the current €6m.” So,… Read more »

Kessie and Romagnoli are practically gone and I bet my head next two who’ll leave Milan on free are Theo and Bennacer. Other clubs figured us out and will exploit our incapability of handling contract talks. The likes of PSG and City are already flirting with Theo and Bennacer so remember what I said. Everybody is not the same. I do believe these guys will eventually leave for greener pastures. That’s the sad reality of today’s football. However, some people have the dignity of repaying the faith of those who believed in them when they were still unknown.

What I’m saying is: I don’t think someone like Bennacer will resolve to stupid games if he wants to leave. He won’t give his word and then start prevaricating. Theo, I believe respects Maldini and will come out clean when he wants to leave, rather than resorting to stupid underhand tactics.

Seeing all these players leave on a free although they’ve been offered same salary they now receive in new clubs (Donna, Hakan) and Kessie suddenly stuttering to sign a new three times higher contract, makes me wonder there’s something else behind all this mess.

Maybe players know more about the so called project, as we do. Seeing what kind of players they are signing, makes me question this “project” as well. Of course apart from Tomori, Giroud, Tonali and Diaz. The rest they got this summer, are just numbers to fill in…

The fact of the matter mate, is that losing a young world class talent for free (such as dollaruma) rarely happens. And for a reason. And his value (nor of the other snake Hakan, which I personally view as a much lesser loss) didn’t increase that much either in the last year. We all knew he was the golden goose that needed to be protected.

I personally give a lot of credit to Maldini and co, they did a lot of great things. But there’s no other way to call this fiasco. It’s the definition of mismanagement.

He would be good alternative to Kessie, there’s also Tolisso who has expiring contract at Bayern but he’d probably demand a wage around Kessie’s.

This is the issue we can’t pay that much so if possible if we lucky enough why not grab kamara… at least we have some bench because as things kessie’s time is over with us. Let’s see how he performs with so much hype surrounding his contractual issued

Renato Sanchez to Replace him. Period

Totally agree on Renato Sanches. My only concern is that he is injury prone that’s why Liverpool didn’t sign him this summer. Renato Sanches literally owned Kessie at the San Siro when we lost to Lille in the Europa league.

Boubacar Kamara from Marseille is a better option though since is also a good CB. There is also Tolisso from Bayern Munich.

So Milan is not short on options to replace Kessie. The problem is losing him for FREE

On Kessie (regardless of whether he stays or leaves)- The guys is a physical monster, no doubt. An absolute beast who rarely gets injured, and has stamina from here to infinity. Probably one of the top in the world in that respect. And his defensive skills are top notch, also with respect to his ability to read the game. But I’m hearing how is considered a “complete player” and all that, and I chuckle. The guy has a very limited passing range, especially for a midfielder, and average shooting at best (when it’s not a penalty). In fact, I would… Read more »

One thing is salary and I agree with you on Barella comparisons on this. The other thing is competitivness of the team. Donnarumma left and signed with PSG for around same salary as Milan offered. And I can’t blame him, sure he plays in that lame Ligue 1. And sure buying all the best players around won’t get you titles but the team they are building excites many players. It is attractive to these younger generations now and if they can offer high salary it’s a match for them. I cannot say Milan has an attractive and competitive team to… Read more »

I blame dollaruma for leaving for free; leaving the club who discovered him, nurtured him, and made him rich – for nothing. Anybody is allowed to leave if he wants, and clearly psg are a step up. But playing these tactics with your agent against the so called club you love? After all those gestures of kissing the shirt, and endless tweets about he’s love?

Screw him. Hope he breaks a leg.

Gigio and his agent lied to the brass promising an extension. Maldini couldn’t have known he was going so snake us. He can say he left for a bigger challenge all he wants. He’s on PSGs bench making his beloved 12 million a year. Raiola got his commission and everyone is happy except Milan fans. I’m actually happy. Watching him on the bench. While Maignan is starting and doing well makes me happy. Maldini is instilling a value and a thing that most know. No one is bigger than the club. His club. The club he bled for. The fans… Read more »

True, other teams are stronger now, but Milan is Milan.

Then you would rather see us turning into Arsenal?. Mate, we already sold Suso, Paqueta and Hauge. Who is next? Kessie?

Wasnt Giggio’s release clause 50m? I’m angry too, but Milan must never sell their stars, even less if it’s a primavera player

“Maldini couldn’t have known he was going so snake us”

Isn’t kinda his job to know? Or to extend contacts in a proper time?

Of course Donna is a liar but a football club is a business not a family dinner. I don’t get it how you are still defending our management while we are in the same shit again.

Look at it this way. Before Maldini arrived, Donna had a melt down with FassoBelli under the Chinese management. When Maldini arrived, Raiola figured he could pull the stunt again. They delayed the renewal assuring everyone that they ‘trust’ this new management. If Maldini had decided to put Donna on the transfer list, people will cry foul. Raiola was playing his cards well. Again, all Milan would have got would have been deemed cheap — although now in hindsight, it would have been better than nothing. The truth is if he had left then, people will not have forgiven Maldini.… Read more »

“Extend contacts in a proper time”

Dude, how can you affirm that he didn’t tried? Of the player doesn’t want to sit and negotiate what is your next step? Debilitate the squad and sell the man? Excuse me, but Maldini knows his shit better than all of us.

I answered under your original comment. It’s easy. Sell any player who doesn’t want to extend in the proper time. It isn’t hard

Nobody’s calling for Maldini’s head. Him and Massara did a lot of great things for the team, including this summer with the signing if diaz, giroud, and florenzi. But loosing the snake for free is on the mgmt heads. That’s all I’m saying. This discussion started by how everyone was praising the summer mercato, and while I do really like some of the additions (and loans made permanent), disregarding this major blunder is just being blind. It is Maldini’s and co. job to make sure such things don’t happen, and they failed with that respect. Big time. Oh, and if… Read more »

If you haven’t figured it out, know it now: Dollaruma is just a fu**ING cash cow for Raiola. Ask yourself why wasn’t there a scramble to sign him after his contract expired? At least, several clubs are waiting to pounce for Kessie. Look at it, Dollaruma is young, but all the top clubs have elite goalkeepers with relative high wages. Raiola pitched him to all of them, but the club’s were not willing to give him that stupid salary. In the end, he’s getting less than what Milan offered to sit on the bench at PSG. It has nothing to… Read more »

I think he’s form is the result of Pioli’s system change. In 4-3-3 he played as right central midfielder. Someone who needed box to box abilities plus attacking explosiveness and even good finishing. He was clearly lacking in that both area. How many shots he missed while trying to score from right side of penalty area. We all hated him for his form and no one considered him a great player. Pioli’s system changed changed two things. Kessie doesn’t need to attack that much. So his weak aspects are less shown. He also moved to the left side of a… Read more »

Ok, there is a lot of anger right now, can someone tell me how you force Kessie to sign? Can someone affirm that the management didnt tried to keep Donna and Hakan? The president himself said it, we built a team for Europa League, the expectation was 4th-6th place. Donnarumma is the best in his age group and one of the best in the world. He wants the CL we cannot secure that objective in this decade if you ask me. Hakan is a little bitch. Kessie is a young player with huge potential, he also wants to be a… Read more »

The point is not forcing them to sign. The point is selling any players who doesn’t sign before he becomes a free agent. Of course you can’t keep a player who doesn’t want to stay. But you should be able to make money of such a situation. Was it that hard to sitt with the players two years ago and inform them the offer? Do you negotiate with an employee for two years? Why not sell them after they rejecting hundreds of offers? They made a mistake. They are making it again and it’s probably too late. I don’t accept… Read more »

I’ve labelled this fiasco with Donnarumma, Hakan and Kessie poor management some posts earlier. Cause that’s what this all is. You don’t open contract extention talks when a player is in his last 6 months or so, cause then you just gave him the upper hand here. He will blackmail like Kessie is now doing. They should open talks with Kessie already last season or at least in the beginning of at least January 2021, to see his intentions. Should he show signs of hesitation, they could sell him this summer and avoid losing him for free. Same for Donnarumma… Read more »

It really is that simple. I dont understand why some people keep doing mental gimnastics over here in order to justify the menagment. They made a disaster from the contract renews no matter how you look at it.

Yep. Maldini and management waited too long and they were also haggling over a few million dollars that they could have just paid him from the first request by his agent.

Now it’s going to cost them more to keep him or lose him for free. SMDH

Remember last Christmas we were top and desperate for a RW.
Still we have not signed one.
So I don’t see how we can be competitive against the C.L elite.
This in turn makes our talented young players look to other opportunities.

Now add to that getting rid of Hauge and Olzer, both of whom are already starring for their new clubs. That’s just poor

Not true, we now have three RW players (Alexis, Messias and Casti) but combined they don’t even qualify for one good RW, just a pile of deadwood.

You mean a good RW like Thauvin who many of you guys were clamouring for, yet couldn’t get any club to sign him, so he ended up in the Mexican League?

Man, get a life. Hate Saelemaekers all you want; he’s improving and has proven to be a shrewd buy. Messias, you have not seen and you’ve already condemned him.

By the way who was Theo before he arrived in Milan? Some Real Madrid youngster being sent on loan. Who was Bennacer? A nobody playing for relegated Empoli.

Don’t call anyone deadwood unless they’ve proved to be such.

If contractv is 5 years old you need to renegotiate after 2.5 years especially if your player is young. After 2.5 years you must act like 5 years have already passed. If player does not want to sign new contract you need to sell them

Exactly, quite simple logic isn’t it? But fans here are sensitive and emotional cause it’s Maldini we’re taking on. Maldini acted naive and emotional as well, all too friendly with players thinking they are one big happy family. There’s no room for emotions in business, Donna, Hakan and Kessie already understand this.

We all love milan here and there shouldn’t be any doubt we dont respect Maldini. He is a legend but sentiments aside the whole mess surely falls on management. They can’t simply leave it on last year of contract. Raiola played a decent game, hakan too then kessie agent making us feel like fools. Didn’t we heard our milan is youth based project buy cheap sell higher or is it buy cheap and sell for free. They would have locked him up atleast Donna and kessie and sell them following season to Invest. The thing is we don’t wana spend… Read more »
