Pietro Pellegri will most likely be Milan’s third-choice striker for next season as an agreement is close to being achieved.

Milan have been looking for a third young striker all summer and after losing out on Kaio Jorge who ended up joining Juventus, it seems that the Rossoneri have found their man: Monaco’s Pietro Pellegri.

The once-teenage sensation is on the market, and negotiations with Monaco are underway. Pellegri’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, was at Casa Milan yesterday for a meeting and as reported by Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, the 20-year-old, who grew up in Genoa, has already given his OK for the move.

An agreement with principle with Monaco already exists but there is still no total understanding. The Italian media is talking of a €1m paid loan + an option to buy for €6m plus bonuses + a percentage of a future resale in favor of Monaco. The option to buy would become an obligation if Pellegri makes a certain number of appearances for Milan during the 2021/22 season.

Talks are ongoing and the final OK of Monaco could already arrive today. Pellegri has been at Monaco since the 2017/18 season, scoring 2 goals in 23 appearances. Milan still believe he can explode.

Too many injuries has stunted him
But if he can stay fit, maybe he has a chance
I would not rate this move more than 6/10
Might have been better to give chance to primavera strikers if he is the only other financially viable option

DonMilano

I think Milan just want to gamble with the 1 Million of paid loan..If the player comes out good after the loan period, then we have a good deal,. If he turns bad , we send him back. We can still tolerate loss of a million.

Serpent of mondinna

By that time our season would have been ruin, they is a big catch if he flops

Agustinar

This kid was something else in Genoa, one of the biggest talents back then. Let’s see if he can get back on track.
