Milan need to offload a number of players who are surplus to requirements, and Caldara & Colombo may leave.

The Rossoneri are building their squad for next season, in which they’ll compete in the Champions League in addition to Serie A, and apart from getting new signings, they are looking to sell and loan men.

Mattia Caldara returned to the club this summer after Atalanta chose to not use their buy-out option on the player following his 18-month loan at the club.

Due to injuries and technical choices, Caldara only played twice in official games for Milan. He’s been training under the eyes of Stefano Pioli since the pre-season began, but could soon find himself in a new club. As reported by Milannews.it and others, newly-promoted side Venezia are interested.

Venezia are pressing to get Caldara and today Paolo Poggi, who is Responsible for the Technical Area at Venezia and Director of Sport Mattia Collauto were at Casa Milan to discuss the center back. “He is at Milan and within a couple of weeks we’ll make some evaluations. There are important and newly promoted clubs [interested], let’s see”, Caldara’s agent Beppe Riso told Tuttomercatoweb on Thursday. “It’s a choice whether to go and play 38 games or go and play somewhere else.”

Meanwhile, Milannews.it suggests that the future of striker Lorenzo Colombo should be in Serie B, with SPAL currently the team closest to get the player, who was at Cremonese on loan for half a year.

We should have sold krunic last season for 8m, when we had the chance but pioli said no maybe it was due to the fact the management where unwilling to spend cash but now we don’t need him again so also Castillejo two dirty that need to be exterminated, yet all am seeing is hauge and leao being link out of the club, kid that have potential and talent, that are still growing but krunic and Castillejo that have shown their full ability that the club knows they can’t get better than this and are more closer to their 30s… Read more »

exactly because he earns in the vicinity of 3.7 mil a year before taxes and i seriously doubt venezia has the finances to cover that. Add to that he has 2 years remaining of his countract and as the deal was set in a 35 mil swap deal over 5 years we will need to get back 14 mil in regard of amortzation from what i can see which i cant imagine them paying even if surviving relegation battle this cant really turn out positive as i see it. Deffently one of the worst deals we ever made and frankly… Read more »
