Rade Krunić has stated that ‘my wish is for us to continue as we are doing’ after beating Lazio 3-2 on the last game of 2020 despite the difficulties.
Milan were missing a lot of key players heading into the match against Lazio last night, but still managed to get a vital win which kept them in the first place of Serie A, to end 2020 on a high.
The match was very difficult for the Rossoneri, especially in midfield where Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunić were struggling greatly against the five-man midfield of Lazio. Despite all that, a late goal from Theo Hernandez made it 3-2 at the final whistle and gave Milan three more beautiful points.
“We ended the year in the best way possible. I think tonight we showed again that we’re a real team, one that fights for the full 90 minutes. We showed the right spirit and determination and we must continue on this path,” Krunić told MilanTV at the end of the match.
“My performance? I think the coach was pleased with my defending. I think I followed his instructions very well. On the attack, perhaps I was better in the first half, I misplaced some easy passes, because I’m still a bit conditioned mentally, I’m not free of mind. I’m grateful to my teammates, the coach and his staff who always have faith in me. I think I will do well in the future.
“Theo? With Theo, you could see his quality from the start, but I have to say he has improved so much in his defending. In the past, the coach would show videos of his mistakes, while now he always does the right thing tactically. The best place to learn tactics is certainly Italy. He has improved a lot in his attacking, too. There is no one who doesn’t like what he does because it’s wonderful to see when he starts off at the back, when he takes on his man. He’s a great player and has a bright future.
“2021? My wish is for us to continue as we’re doing, with the way we’re winning, I think we can go far. And I hope for good health for myself and my teammates. I hope we do well.”
