Why so obsessed with Baka? He’s a little inconsistent and slow to our current set up. But definitely much better than Krunic lol. I’m glad we got tonali over him.

But yeah it’s a good game for sure!

for the hundredth time, krunic and tonali aint pure dm. hell, not even ben is pure dm. baka could’ve been cheap quick back up for kessie, the only dm milan have. pray for kessie’s wellbeing because no way milan could survive without him.
also, it was tonali and krunic’s fault milan are below lille. their performance vs lille at san siro was abysmal.

Baka is a very good backup and partner for Kessie, yes. But he was too expensive. We’ll find someone younger, with more potential and cheaper salary, in a slightly better price (eg Soumare).

soumare’s price range is 25m – 30m mate, and lille are not under pressure to sell. in short, he aint cheaper. he’s younger, yes but is he really better than best player of rino’s milan era? i’ve been watching napoli for months now and baka is really great addition to the team

Not better now, unlikely, but with more potential perhaps. And Chleski wanted something in the range of 40 mil if I recall. Plus, don’t forget that Baka demands a sizeable salary as a former french international.

i read that chelsea are willing to sell baka to napoli for 20m, and napoli pay 2.5m for baka’s salary. so either nazidis was penny pinching during baka negotiations or maldini was bad negotiator. i blame nazidis

One possible explanation is that Milan already have potential loanees for that position in Brescianini and Pobega..

Yep, Pobega in particular. We need to remember that we’re talking about a backup for Kessie, a guy that can play 2-3 times a week all season long. Most durable player in seria a probably.

and the biggest problem of them all. You are assuming baka would have been ok with a backup role. He wanted to leave Chelsea because he was a backup. Why would he agree to that here? and why would we want to pay that much for a second string guy.
I like him, and he did good while he was here, but he just wasnt what we needed.

The problem is that Baka will not outperform Kessie nor Ben, so he will stay as a back up. He wanted to leave Chelsea so he could have regular play time.

are we just gonna pretend that baka himself didnt want milan return no matter what? he literally refused offers from other teams like psg until last weeks of mercato because he wanted to come back to milan. he, like szoboszlai, even liked and supported milan related posts on socmed. he wanted to come back and maldini/pioli wanted him to come back. milan even let pobega go and were willing to sell krunic to freiburg to make way for baka but freiburg didnt want to wait until milan played vs shamrock hence they bought other player. thats when baka negotiation went… Read more »

correctamundo mate. modric would’ve been fantastic. dont forget nazidis also vetoed ibra TWICE and refused to give pioli time to build his milan hence that rangnick fiasco that resulted in boban AND rangnick being jobless. nazidis and his youngling fetish and salary cap he tries to impose are milan’s main problems. anyone who actually follows football knows ts33, pedro, ibra, vidal have been great signings this season. even maldini himself once eloquently said that a young team without experience cant win anything. my point is, it was nazidis and his stupid salary cap’s fault baka didnt come back. anyone who… Read more »

Perhaps maldini was already looking further ahead towards next season when he allowed pobega and brescianini leave on loan. Perhaps with one year of first team football away from milan in a less pressure environment would help prevent those two lads ending up like de sciglio or SES. For now, milan will have to settle with krunic as 4th choice cm but if everything goes according to plan, we’ll have 5 good young midfielders for next season.

Milan10

that is the most logical reason but milan did want to sell krunic and replace him with baka. too bad krunic sale to freiburg didnt happen and now milan is stuck with him leaving only kessie as pure dm

With all fairness to Europa-nothing league – This was a respectable group we just passed through. Celtic are a big team with a huge history, and S Prague, while smaller, still have some decent achievements in Europe for a Czech team. Definitely not a nobody in Europe. And Lille are currently playing at a champions league level, definitely a strong team by any standard (second place in the French league doesn’t come for nothing). Admittingly both Celtic and Prague are in bad phases, but still considering all the rotation Pioli had to do, we did a very good job. And… Read more »

well, that was bad match full of errors and bad decisions but a win is a win. that celtic also rising up to the occasion at the exact right moment to indirectly help milan also was pleasant surprise. topping the group means no early meetings with strong teams like tottenham. hauge was decisive with his now trademark “cut inside and score” move but he needs to work on his decision making skills; sometimes its better to pass the ball to teammates. kaluluan thuram, tonali and tata also had good game. the rest was meh, and im not even trying to… Read more »

Bruh Hakan has been garbage this season. A few good games doesn’t make up for 3 years of trash. Of those chances created, how many were speculative chances. Any time you shot it’s a chance on goal, doesn’t mean his pass to that player put them in a real advantage to score. How many key passes does he make that leads to a real chance? That is the stat worth looking at. If he continued from the end of last season I’d say give him a new contract but he went back to his old ways. He needs to go… Read more »
