Sandro Tonali has admitted he’s lacking match fitness after a good performance against Sparta Prague.

Milan defeated Sparta Prague 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday evening with goals from Brahim Díaz (24′), Rafael Leão (57′) and Diogo Dalot (67′).

Some players who normally don’t start in Serie A were given their chance and one of those was Sandro Tonali, who played perhaps his best match in a Milan jersey yet, playing 90 minutes alongside Ismaël Bennacer and then Franck Kessié.

“My condition? Certainly putting a few minutes in the legs is always good. It’s never easy to come back after a month at home, especially into a team that runs so much. I feel that I am slowly getting back to my best shape,” the summer signing, who had COVID in the summer, told Sky.

“If the Milan shirt weights? It always has its importance, but in general I am lacking some match fitness, so matches like these very good for me and the team to find our feet. It’s never easy to win, especially 3-0, so we are happy.”
