14 players from Pioli’s squad will be in action with their respective national teams in this upcoming break.

After beating Spezia 3-0 on Sunday and finishing the first rush of the season with 6 wins out of 6 games, it’s time for the first international break of the season.

14 Milan players will be in action for 12 different sides (11 countries). While some will have friendlies, most will be involved in the European Championship qualifiers.

All of Milan’s new summer signings have been called up for their countries, with a debut call-up for Jens Petter Hauge and a Spain U21 call-up for Brahim Díaz. Alexis Saelemaekers has also been called-up for the senior Belgium national team squad for the first time in his career and he’ll try to get some playing time.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is the only Milan player in the squad of the Azzurri, with Sandro Tonali and Matteo Gabbia called-up for the U21 side and Daniel Maldini & Lorenzo Colombo for the U20 side. Nearly the entire Rossoneri XI will be away on international duty: Ante Rebić would have been called-up as well but he’s currently recovering from his injury and there’s optimism he can return soon.

Daniel Maldini and Lorenzo Colombo were due to take part in a training camp with Italy’s U20 team, but this has now been cancelled.

The full list of called-up players and their matches with dates and times is below:

Lets hope they all have a great matches in their respective national sides and return super healthy without any injuries!

So what do you all think about the Inter match? we dont have much time for preparation – only two days after the international duties. Win or Draw?

alexmilan55

If we recover Ibra and Romagnoli we won’t lose, it will be a tough game in which we need experience and fresh players. I hope for a win, but it will be hard

Abuchi

I don’t know if we’d win, but we won’t loose

Coach Seedorf

Its a win for us my man. We will teach Inter some lesson this season.

Elliot azzuri

We are the underdogs; and away( doesn’t really matter do) inter have a better chance, but this is football and we are the roseneri, i believe

Terry

I feel that if we play our game, then we will win. Milan is really strong this year. I am looking forward to this derby.

nations league a.k.a. glorified friendlies is the most useless invention of uefa since that ridiculous 2 group stages of ucl 1999/00 or fifa’s confederation cup. a mere quick cash grab at the expense of players’ fitness. i hope none of milan players, including donna the repent, will play full 90 mins in each match because the last thing milan need is another injured player(s). milan need to win vs current most balanced team of serie a inter to boost their morale. losing the derby would mess up players mentality, just like during rino’s reign. if it wasnt for that derby… Read more »
