Milan are looking for a defender and after missing out of Wesley Fofana, one of the goals now is Takehiro Tomiyasu, with Nacho being another alternative.
The management of the club, despite going ahead in recent days with the signing of Jens Petter Hauge, has never denied that they are interested in a center back before the end of the mercato.
Many names have been mentioned over the past weeks, including Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenković, Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer and Saint-Étienne’s Wesley Fofana. The latter in the last two days appeared to be a prime candidate however his name can be crossed off the list as Leicester have agreed a €40 million deal for him yesterday.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, after Fofana the second name on the list of Milan is Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu. The 21-year-old Japanese, who can also play as a right-back, is valued by Bologna at €25m, while Milan are currently willing to offer €15m plus €5m bonuses.
Another player Milan are interested in is Nacho of Real Madrid. A meeting has already taken place between the leaders of the Rossoneri and of Los Blancos and an idea could be having Nacho wearing Red and Black for one season on loan, with Real Madrid participating in paying the player’s salary.
Di Marzio also reports that Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot (21, right-back) is a target and in fact the club has already offered a loan with option to buy. The Red Devils want a permanent sale.
Missing on signing fofana is a shame, just like missing on florentino luis. It’s ridiculous how epl clubs sign players for > 30 mil during this covid19 period while furloughing non playing staff at the same time. IDK about Florentino, Monaco signed for 2M loan with option for 19M or so. Well, the fact is that the deal cost them just above 20M, when the reports were saying that it was 40M. Most likely, it was just a rumor, just like one of the sources said that Juve were about to sign Chiesa for 20M loan for 2 years with obligation for 40M, when he has just 2 years left on his contract. Finances are different in EPL and seria A, it’s good our team has not forced non playing staff to leave their jobs, it’s better we helped all the ones we are having prior to covid. As far as signings are considered there is always a cost benefit analysis attached to it, if you buy high ,you will not get much more in terms of future sale because even the best of the defenders cost nearly 50-55M not including exceptions. I don’t think we should’ve signed Florentino since we got Tonali to alternate with Kessié as a DM instead, and we need to sign players for many other positions (CB, RB, and a guy to be a starter replacing Castillejo for example) and don’t have an awful lot of money to spend. In Transfermarkt it’s stated that this guy’s value is 18 mil euro..so around 20 mil can be considered a great deal. Moreover, he’s also capable of playing as RB, CB (he’s tall), and even DM (yes!). Those are all the areas needing more quality and depth, so buying one player that can cover them all is a very wise move.
I don’t know how he plays as DM, but as he’s originally a DF, we can expect a defensive-minded player. He could be a good emergency backup for Kessie.
It seems Celtic wants 30mil for Ajer, again a very unrealistic price for some one who has a market value of 4mil at the moment. Premier league teams + PSG really messed up the market with there overpaid transfers. Tomiyasu market value is 18mil so i gues up to 25mil is still kinda reasonable im just not sure how much he can improve does he really have a “high ceiling” as a player.
I actually like this idea but i see Tomiyasu more as a RB than as a CB but he can play in every position in defence even on the left because he possess true ambidexterity good team player and good work rate and competent in defence just lack abit of physicality other than that he has no weaknesses in his game its a good investment the + is that he is japanese good for marketing in Japan
And if Theo gets injuried then what? We have a back three formation in plan B? Our LB department will suffer at least until January when they will have to force buy someone to cover for Theo.
We desperately need an LB and CDM, someone who will cover for Kessie and Theo. For LB imo Mykolenko should be taken into consideration. He’s young, strong, skillful and can cover CB position as well. Sheva already proposed him to Maldini some time ago. Dunno about his price tag since they are on the verge of qualifying for CL.
This guy if we get him is my wildcard signing. Under the radar he will hopefully transform himself into a starter and be a great buy. Just hope it’s for the right price.

Fofona = 3 star ( could be great)
Milinkovic = 3.5 star ( expirence, almost at his full potential, we know what he can offer)
Ajer = 2.5 star ( decent defender, has played cl football, his league best defender. “But” league quality not the best)
Tomiyasu= 3 star( could be asia next big star, and serie a next most wanted man
