Reports: Milan and Brescia reach an agreement over Tonali, the midfielder is set to sign a five-year contract

Sandro Tonali is practically a Milan player, according to reports in Italy.

Milan have beaten Inter to sign one of the brightest talents in Europe, as Tonali will be joining the Rossoneri from Brescia.

As reported by Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio and others, an agreement has been found between Paolo Maldini and Brescia President Massimo Cellino this evening.

The 20-year-old is arriving on a paid loan worth €10 million with an option to buy for €15 million. In addition, there will be €10m in bonuses going Brescia’s way should certain personal and team objectives will be reached.

Antonio Vitiello of Milannews.it reported that Tonali had been pushing for a move to Milan as he’s a Milanista at heart and that Sandro in fact is the biggest ally of Maldini in the negotiations. Cellino suggested this weekend that Tonali was in a hurry to know his future, which is now set.

The details still need to be ironed out but unless something truly sensational happens, Tonali will be a Milan player next season. He’ll sign a five-year contract with the Diavolo.

Looks like Tonali is coming.  Such sweet news. Not like he’s a guaranteed starter who will take us to CL right away but i think we’re moving in the right direction with this deal. Tonali could be the next Verrati or even better. Only time will tell. Wrapping up Tonali first could mean we will definitely force Chelsea to lower their demands for Bakayoko over the next 2 weeks or even completely abandon the negotiation. Sources in Spain state that Brahim Diaz will be a dry loan signing which im not really keen abt developing another team’s talent. Lets see… Read more »

if this doesnt turn the most hardcore rangnick poleriders into full on maldinisti then nothing will. another great job by il bandiera. now please get baka and brahim diaz and tie rebic permanently and the mercato will be complete.
bravo maldini, benvenuto tonali

if maldini could pull off his “loan with option to buy” magic again, this time to get fofana, then that would be great. ts33 returning could also be great but he’s chelsea player now. but hell no to 40m for milenkovic, much less ajer (whose club just got eliminated by ferencpuskassomething in ucl playoff rounds). i think milan already have enough cb and rb thus there’s no need to buy unless great opportunity presents itself again. pique maybe? haha

A leftback to rotate with theo is more urgently needed instead of a cb right now. Once that’s settled and if we still have some money left, then we could sign a cb.

call me krazy with a “k” but i think laxalt deserves to be theo’s deputy; he’s been professional and his attitude impeccable and to be honest his crossing ability is better than theo. attacking formations like 4-2-3-1 suit him best. he can also be emergency lw

My guess is that we are going to swap Paqueta plus Cash for Milenkovic. And tbh i think Milenkovic is a good player ready for a big club. Fofana is good too. I wonder what happened to Ruben Dias of Benfica. he is still a good CB too, much cheaper.

Other CB Options are Boubacar Kamara, Robin Koch or even Pezella. We will need a CB because Musachio and Duarte are probably leaving.

i think only 1 of musa/duarte will leave, not both. personally i think duarte deserves one more chance to prove himself as i think he played fairly well when he’s fit. and if he cant even stay injury-free next season THEN its probably best to let him go. next season though not right now. milenkovic is good player yes but fiorentina boss are extremely greedy so i think its best not to try to strike a deal with them. its not like there are no better, cheaper options than milenkovic and chiesa. ruben dias, kamara, fofana are good choices. too… Read more »

Pezzella a bit too old, imo. Koch is at Leeds. Paqueta swap for either Milenkovic or Ruben Dias would be a dream, even if it would cost us extra 10M.

Great news. Now let’s wrap up Bakayoko’s deal. Get a CB to partner Romagnoli, a good RB and a good backup for Theo and a RW upgrade like Chiesa.

I dont think Chiesa will be coming. Fio are demanding 50-60 Mil for him so thats gonna be hard. Which is why i think Maldini is trying to get Brahim Diaz temporarily.

I only see a CB and Bakayoko coming in this window after Tonali.

Y are u guys so excited about this move ,believe me tonali it’s not the solution to Milan midfield .this will be another paqueta move ,Milan lack man management,u see players seen as potential super stars in other clubs and Milan buys them for high prices and coming to Milan they become wash away players .the only reason milan did well last season it’s bcos we had two coaches …pioli and ibrahimovic …trust me after 2 years Milan will sell tonali for 15 mil or less

I feel u got this one wrong. Tonali I the real deal. Young, talented and the kind of player that plays with heart. Trust me, u will be eating back those words after 2 years. Tonali will be here a long time and probably end up as a legend. I only pray we dont sell him when we get bids that are tempting

Milan’s midfield will be strong this season. It was solid at the end of last so tonali wont have too much pressure on him which will be good for his development. Have to remember his age

I get your concern but you gotta realize tonali is a deep lying mid, not an atm. He doesn’t need to dribble past ppl. He’s a pirlo that picks out long and short passes. Milan needs that

Trust me ,nothing special abt him ,and we are celebrating like milan just bought Messi …most of us have not wondered y inter milan became sluggish abt buying him this are market strategies and milan fell for it and we think we have hit the jack pot …this player is average or below

You obviously are here to troll. Tonali is regarded as a budding superstar ok Verratis level. There are many things special about him. His technique for his age is unheard of. Paquetá isn’t a fair comparison at all. They are 2 completely different players. You will look like an idiot after this season ends. Tonali is a very special kid and has already broken into the Italian national team at 20 years old. I’ll trust in Maldini and our scouts and my eyes over a person who probably can’t even dribble a football and plays fifa thinking they are a… Read more »

This is what happens when you have Maldini in helms of transfer. All we need now a positive season. Oh boy! If we qualify for 2021-2022 season, Elliot will get greedy, either they’ll sell to a wealthy suitor or keep it in the hope of generating more value meaning pumping more money. Good days are not far away, stay strong, Forza Milan!

There’s also a report from Bild about straight swap deal between Rebic and Silva. Man after a slow start on the market, Maldini and Massara are suddenly unstoppable.

Belive it or not Silva had a great season in Germany just as Rebic in Italy. A swap makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Samu and Saelemaekers had good performance last season in 4231 and if Brahim Diaz in, we had enough cover for the right wing. Chiesa is also expensive, so I don’t think he is a priority right now. May be next season when we qualify for UCL. Our priority now is a RB.

Ya I agree, before going for a rb, we need to give kalulu a chance. He could be a beast in disguise

Kalulu is good for anticipation, reading of the game, tackling and good pace, but his technique is poor, he can’t be a new Theo, he was playing good as central defender in a 3 line in the back

The kid hasn’t played a single senior match; he cannot take the starting RB role next season (or the season afterwards for that matter)

unlikely yes but not impossible though, everyone needs to start from a point of no experience and some does it so well that they become starters soon after. Whether kalulu will do that is obviously a different matter though as he propably will need some time to adjust to his new settings.

Well i think its pretty much done but yeah we have been there before. seems like tonali will be re-sigining his contract with brescia so his value doesnt plummit if milan potentially wouldnt buy him next year after the loan. Anyways think its pretty much in the bag but yeah lets wait with the celebration.

Well nobody is jinxing anything and i for one doesnt believe in such bs anyways and neither do i believe in curses or stuff like that but its allways good to be a bit critical of the info we are presented with. Anyways think its pretty much a done deal when he has re-signed with brescia and done his medical check.

Anyways we will meet shamrock rovers in the 1 tie match played in republic of ireland september 17th. shouldnt cause us huge problems so i can only be happy about that draw.

Rodriguez left, Laxalt is on the way out meaning Theo is our only fullback on the left side. Shouldn’t we be focused to strengthen the LB position instead of worrying about RB where we currently have three players for one spot (Calabria, Conti and Kalulu)?

true, plus I believe Calabria has to be given another season. The kid has shown his quality now we just have to wait for Pioli to bring the best out of him, like he did with both Kessie and Chalha.
