Alexis Saelemaekers has put pen to paper and will try to get Milan to buy him permanently in the summer.
After sending Suso to Sevilla on an 18-month loan with option to buy, Milan have decided to close their January transfer activities with the signing of 20-year-old Belgian Alexis Saelemaekers.
An agreement was reached with Anderlecht on the basis on a six-month loan with an option to buy, which – it’s reported – can turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met. Buying Saelemaekers, who is a versatile player who can play many different roles, would cost Milan €7-8 million.
“Milan is delighted to announce the acquisition of Belgian winger Alexis Saelemaekers from RSC Anderlecht on loan until the end of the 2019/20 Serie A season, with an option to make the deal permanent,” a statement on the club’s website reads.
“Born in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe (Belgium) on June 27, 1999, Alexis started his career at the RSC Anderlecht Academy before making his first-team debut on February 16, 2018 against Sint-Truidense VV. He has since then registered 2 goals in 57 appearances. In 2018, Alexis earned his first call-up in the Belgium U-21 squad and made his debut on September 7 in a 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Malta.
“Alexis will join his new teammates tomorrow (February 1) and will be unveiled to media during a press conference on Tuesday February 4, 2020. The press conference will be aired live on the Club’s TV Channel ‘Milan TV’ and on the AC Milan Official App.”
good replacement, he’s faster than Suso, but i’m not sure we’ll sign him next season, look like Mr. Singer searching for buyer (Arnault maybe) rather than investment, every player who came is free or loan. we always struggle with new players adaptation, if Castillejo need some rest & this kid not yet adapt, i want to see Conti (better cross) as RW & Calabria (better defend) in RB
